Wally Lewis’ Brain Surgery Goes Well

Australian Rugby League superstar, Wally Lewis, is recovering after under-going brain surgery this afternoon.
The three-and-a-half hour operation, performed by neurosurgeon Gavin Fabinyi, to control his epilepsy, appears to have gone well.
“I’m pleased to say Wally is looking good, he has come out of the operation and is still a bit sleepy,” Professor Fabinyi said. “The operation has gone well.”
Wally, 47, will spend the next 10 days recovering in hospital, before being allowed home.
Professor Fabinyi said that it may be 12 months until they know whether the operation has been a success.
Wally represented Australia in 33 Test matches, played 31 State of Origin matches for Queensland and was captain of NRL side the Brisbane Broncos in 1988-89.
Glad to know all went well with the op!
