TomKat Sleep in Separate Bedrooms

Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are about to move into a brand spanking Beverly Hills mansion, but felt the need to keep the sleeping arrangements the same as when they were first together – in seperate bedrooms, and at opposite ends of the house.

According to Starpulse.com, Tom and Katie have never slept in the same bedroom before, and are quite comfortable with each having their own seperate wing in their gigantic homes.

“It’s a situation that works for both of them,” a friend told Star magazine. “Of course they spend time together alone at night like most married couples; after all, they conceived Suri! In fact, they even joke about having separate bedrooms to their friends – Katie says Tom snores, and this way she can get her beauty sleep!”

I just loved the way the “friend” threw in the Suri reference, as if there’s only one way Tom and Katie could have conceived a child… I guess the friend has never heard of artificial insemination before…

The friend continued with the explanation about the odd sleeping arrangements, saying that the couple doesn’t feel less connected, and are quite happy to keep with the old routine, which begun when Katie moved in to the Cruise home after their very publicised romance in 2005.

“At first, it was because Katie was Catholic and single, and they were only dating. It was the proper thing to do,” the friend said. “Now that they are married, they don’t feel the need to alter the arrangement. Tom has his master bedroom, and Katie has hers.”

Of course, reps for TomKat say this story is completely false, but another source claims that upon starting a relationship with the Top Gun star, it was made quite clear to Katie that she would not be sleeping with him.

“When Katie moved into the house, it was made clear that Tom occupied the north wing of the second floor and that she would occupy a cluster of suites on the south wing of the same floor,” the source revealed.

“Katie wanted to make herself feel at home, and she insisted on remodeling her area, which consisted of a study, parlor and large bedroom suite. Over the course of several months, Katie created a larger space to have as her own. In the end, she designed the room of her dreams, a very feminine room painted in pastel colors, with a small carousel and filled with many stuffed animals.”

Sounds cosy…
