The Times & TMZ Confirm: Jackson Has Died

While it’s still not official yet, two of the biggest names in the entertainment news world are now reporting that pop star Michael Jackson has died, age 50.

The Times and TMZ.com have confirmed on their respective sites that Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors at UCLA Medical Centre. His family has reportedly been informed.

Expect an official confirmation from a Jackson representative shortly.

Jackson Still Clinging to Life; in Coma

A report has just surfaced that contradicts TMZ’s news that singer Michael Jackson has died from heart failure.

MSNBC is saying that the pop icon is in a coma, and is still clinging to life with his mother by his side.

Capt. Steve Ruda of the Los Angeles Fire Department said that Jackson “was not breathing” when paramedics arrived at his home, and CPR was performed.

Jackson’s father Joe, who is in Las Vegas at the present time, has said that he doesn’t know what’s going on and is still waiting to hear back from family at Jackson’s bedside.

UPDATE: Law enforcement officials have just told The Times that Jackson is indeed dead. He arrived at UCLA in a “deep coma” and was pronounced dead by doctors sometime around 3:15 p.m. with family at his side.
