Suicide Fears for Mischa Barton

Mischa Barton was placed under psychiatric hold by the LAPD on Wednesday after friends of the actress phoned police, afraid she was about to kill herself.
The former television starlet was supposed to be flying to New York for the premiere of her new film, Homecoming, but had become so disheartened by the movie’s poor reviews that she’d gone on a marathon three-day coke bender and threatened suicide, according to a source.
“She’s in very bad shape,” the source explained.
“She’s running out of money and can’t find love, so now she is looking for a good time to escape her misery. She is on a downward spiral.”
The source added: “She is a mess. She is a suicidal, uninsurable mess.”
Barton’s publicist, Craig Schneider, released a statement on her behalf, confirming that the actress “remains in the hospital under doctor’s orders.” The St. Trinian’s star is being held under section 5150 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code, whereby authorities can hold a person who presents a risk to themselves and/or the community for up to 72 hours – the same law that saw Britney Spears hospitalised at Cedars Sinai last year.
Spears bounced back pretty quickly from her little episode with the help of her family and a strong management team behind her, however, a pal of Barton’s believes it won’t be so easy for the former O.C. star.
“She is a tortured and troubled person,” the friend said. “You can survive a bad review, but when you don’t show up for the premiere of your new film, it’s not a good sign of where your career is heading.”

Pattinson is a Better Sex Symbol, Says Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe isn’t quite sure why girls find him attractive, especially not when they could turn their attentions to a more worthy candidate, in the Harry Potter actor’s view – his onetime co-star and Twilight hunk, Robert Pattinson.
At Thursday’s NYC premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Radcliffe told Usmagazine.com: “Rob Pattinson is a sex symbol. Rob Pattinson is a genuine sexy guy. He’s got the height.
“If girls like short and nerdy, then I’m a sex symbol!”
While Radcliffe is keen to sing Pattinson’s praises on the attractiveness front, the 19-year-old admitted that he hadn’t spoken to his former Potter co-star in years, but had high hopes for a reconciliation at a premiere or two somewhere down the track.
“I’ve said probably three words to him in the last three years and that was before Twilight all kicked off,” Radcliffe said. “But I wish him well. Hopefully, I’ll see him at some point. He’s bound to turn up at one of these [premieres] at some point.”
Sounds to me like Radcliffe has got himself a bit of a man-crush! If he’s lucky, maybe Pattinson will stop by for coffee when he moves back to the U.K. (which, given his dislike for all things screaming-fangirl, could be pretty soon).

Megan Flaunts It In L.A.
You can take the girl out of the hooker, but you can’t take the hooker out of the girl…
And there’s plenty more shots where that came from! To see more of Megan pouting her way down the red carpet for the L.A. prem of LaBeouf’s new film, Eagle Eye, follow the jump.
Cruz & Johansson Attend ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ Premiere

Their on-screen kiss might have been more stagnant than steamy, but co-stars Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz certainly set the red carpet at Westwood on fire, when they attended the premiere for their much anticipated Woody Allen flick, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The world premiere for the film was held at the Cannes Film Festival earlier in the year. Those of you who are up-to-date with the gossip may remember that Johansson wasn’t in attendance in Cannes, because of her diva-like antics.
Both actresses were eager to put the past tensions behind them, however, and were only too happy to pose for the photogs together.

Looks like Staralicious’ call-out for Hathaway to take a new stylist worked!
Ms. Hathaway glammed up the red carpet in Rome when she attended the latest premiere for her new movie, Get Smart. It’s certainly an improvement on what she wore during her interview with Jay Leno…

Actress Selma Blair wore her serious face when she attended the premiere of her new movie, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, in Los Angeles over the weekend.
In the film, which is based on the graphic novel series of the same name, Blair reprises her role of the firestarter, Liz Sherman.
More shots of Blair looking super-impressed to be at her own premiere are available after the jump.

Anne Hathaway scorched her way up the red carpet at the Warner Bros. Movie World Theme Park on the Gold Coast overnight, for the Australian premiere of her new movie, Get Smart.
She and co-star Steve Carrell (who plays the infamous agent Maxwell Smart) also appeared on the Network Ten variety show, Rove Live, shortly after the premiere.
The interview Anne and Steve gave on the show was one of the most entertaining I have seen from a celebrity — they spent half the time competing with the host to see who had the best fake dry-retching (long story, don’t ask!) — and at the end of the segment, Anne gave the money she’d won in a super round of fast questions to a fan in the audience.
If you’d like to see the interview, part one and part two are available here.
Keira & Sienna Attend ‘Edge of Love’ Premiere

BFF’s Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller attended the premiere of the new film Edge of Love together, which was held at the 62nd Edinburgh International Film Festival.
As some of you may recall, the script for the film was written by Knightley’s mother, and was originally supposed to star Lindsay Lohan, before the serial rehab-er dropped out, and Sienna took her place.
The major drawcard for the movie, which is loosely based on the life of poet Dylan Thomas, is the alleged threesome between Dylan, his wife Caitlin (played by Miller), and close friend Vera (played by Knightley).
Charlize Theron Wears Designer Sack

Charlize Theron attended the Paris premiere of her new movie, Hancock, wearing little more than a designer sack.
The actress, who’s been out of the limelight since her Oscar-winning performance in Monster, attempted to look glam in her fluffy, white ensemble; something she was never going to pull off, no matter how many sultry pouts she gave to the cameras.
For more of Charlize looking decidedly cloud-like in Paris, follow the jump.
Not Her Greatest Fashion Moment…

Cate Blanchett might have shone at the Cannes premiere of her new movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (mouthful!), but her star wasn’t shining so bright in the fashion stakes at the films’ Aussie debut.
Blanchett, who’s just about my favourite actress on the scene, usually gets it so right whenever she steps out in front of the cameras; however, last night’s bronze puff-ball was a little lack-lustre for me.
While her hair and make-up looked divine (as always), I was a little disappointed to see her fabulous post-baby body hidden beneath an unflattering metallic shirt dress.
At least she turned up to the premiere back home, though!
