Mischa Barton is Happy

Whatever caused Mischa Barton’s mysterious breakdown a few weeks ago seems to be well and truly gone, with the actress insisting that she’s fine and feeling great.

“I’m feeling great!” Barton told OK! magazine. “I’m really happy.”

Barton was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre late last month after being kept under psychiatric hold for three weeks, and returned to work soon after, joining the set of the new CW production, The Beautiful Life, last week.

The former O.C. star told OK! that filming had begun, and was “going really well.”

“I’m excited,” she added.

Barton attended the Arizona Ice Tea-sponsored party for Music Unites over the weekend, and was seen snuggled up on a sofa at the Cooper Union Hotel for most of the evening, sipping on water and talking to a fellow reveller.

An onlooker told OK!: “[Mischa] seemed to be in a good mood. She was smiling and appeared to be genuinely happy.”

Mischa and a female companion left the party at around 10:40 p.m. to “go home and watch True Blood.”

Lindsay Lohan Cashes in on Birthday

Actress Lindsay Lohan has once again attempted to cash in on her birthday, the only difference being that this year she actually succeeded!

For the last two years, the troubled starlet has tried to use her birthday celebrations as a cash injection, and failed miserably. Her 21st, as you may well remember, was a wash-out, with Lohan forced to cancel her hundred-thousand-dollar party at Las Vegas’ Pure nightclub for a trip to rehab, and last year, she actually hunted for her party’s financial support with an extravagant advertising campaign on the internet.

This year, however, Lohan has managed to strike gold – literally – with the MGM Grand in Las Vegas reportedly shelling out $70,000 to host an all-day “pre-celebration” celebration at their already scheduled Wet Republic pool party last weekend.

The event doubled as a promotion for Lohan’s new Sevyn Nine self-tanning mist range, and saw the Mean Girls star change bikinis five times before she threw on some club gear to party the night away to Michael Jackson tunes.

Despite it being labeled as a birthday celebration, sources claim that none of Lohan’s close friends bothered to make an appearance, and admit that the gig was nothing more than an “urgent attempt” to pull in some extra cash.

“None of her really close friends were there,” says one source. “The only person who was even known was Brittny Gastineau.”

Lohan steered clear of the free-flowing alcohol for the entire party and was gracious enough to allow photographs to be taken inside the event, the source added.

The actress is believed to be planning “a small private party with friends in L.A.” for her actual birthday, which is tomorrow. No doubt the cash injection from Vegas will help make the festivities extra-special for LiLo and her celebrity buddies.

Michael Phelps Bongs On

Since storming the last Olympics and setting a record Gold Medal tally of eight Michael Phelps has been hitting the party scene pretty hard, as can be seen in the above image from NOTW.

As you can see, Phelps appears to be taking a big tote from a bong.

Whatever your opinion on this kind of behaviour, it is kind of frowned upon by the International Olympic committee, who have set some stringent anti-drug laws, with any form of illicit drugs drawing a four year ban.

One party-goer who witnessed the star’s behaviour told the News of the World: “He was out of control from the moment he got there.

On hearing that the story and photo was going to be published, Phelp’s aides went into panic mode making all kinds of bribes offers to stop the story.

Lindsay And Sam’s Jealous Night Out

You’d think for a couple about to get engaged that Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson would be all love and kisses, but it seems Lindsay is a little too insecure for all that.

Lindsay was out on the town in London at Chinawhite, where Ronson was DJing.

Knocking back vodka, Lindsay got pissed off with girls in the audience throwing their panties to Sam in the DJ booth and giving her their phone numbers.

Lindsay got her hangers on to move the other girls away, then crawled on all fours under the bar and nestled up to Sam on the decks and started hugging her.

All did not end there though. It seems Lindsay got some of her own back later, when she disappeared halfway through Sam’s set and was later found by Sam in their VIP booth, with another girl, who was stroking Lindsay’s arm and giggling with her. Sam instantly gave the girl the evil eye and she quickly left.

The happy couple then proceeded to make up.

“They went in for a full-on tongue sandwich, their hands all over each other. Nobody knew where to look.”

Madonna & Gwyneth’s Lesbian Pash

In his tell-all autobiographical book, Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone claims that the 49-year-old singer has more than just a “thing” for the ladies.

Ciccone highlighted one particular girl-on-girl moment in the book, when Madge planted a passionate kiss on her good friend, actress Gwyneth Paltrow. According to Ciccone, Madonna was at a New Year’s Eve party for designer Donatella Versace when she kissed the Shallow Hal star full on the lips.

“[Madonna] was dancing on a table at 4 a.m. when she allegedly grabbed Paltrow, pulled her face to hers and kissed her,” Usmagazine.com reports.

Those attending the party were shocked, says Ciccone.

The unauthorized autobiography, titled Life With My Sister Madonna, is said to include a detailed account of the Ray of Light singers’ lesbian tendencies, as well as her “sham” of a marriage to director Guy Ritchie.

It is set for release on July 15.

Christina Aguilera is continuing her hard partying ways since having her baby.

She was out again, partying it up at The Palms in Las Vegas on Saturday night. At least this time, she does not look quite as wasted as she has on other occasions, probably because the night was still young in these pics.

Lindsay Lohan’s Lesbian Kiss

The rumors have been circulating for some time now that Lindsay Lohan enjoys chowing down on Pink Taco and not the restaurant chain either. Lindsay has been pretty tight with long-term ‘gal pal’ Samantha Ronson for some time now, with all the associated lovers tiffs and makeup holidays. Recently Lindsay’s sister, Ali, came out denying that Lindsay is a lesbian, but these pics do nothing except fuel the rumors.

You would think that if she was serious about dispelling these rumors, the last thin Lindsay would do is be caught publicly kissing Samantha and holding her hand in Cannes.

It could be argued, that this entire scene is totally innocent, just like the image John Travolta kissing another man, except innocence and Lindsay Lohan go together about as well as Michael Jackson and a kindergarten.

I just hope they checked the coat rack after she left.

Mischa Snubs Cannes Premiere of Lesbian Film

Former O.C. starlet Mischa Barton has been criticized for failing to attend the scheduled premiere of her new movie, You And I, in Cannes, because she thought the film was “awful” and “didn’t want to be involved in the project.”

Barton, who turned 22 in January, opted to party at Chopard’s Cannes bash instead of attending the premiere. She pulled out of all promotional work for the film earlier in the day, saying she was going home, but a source has revealed Mischa was still on the Riviera and drinking champers when You And I was due to debut.

The source apparently asked the young actress why she wasn’t at the premiere, to which Mischa snapped: “I was never due to go.” Not a very good argument, considering she was in partying in Cannes at the time.

In the film, Mischa plays one of two teenage girls who attend a t.A.T.u. concert in Moscow and fall in love. Bandmembers Lena and Yulia play themselves in the cross-continental film. As you all know, t.A.T.u. is the Russian girl band who’ve made a controversial come-back, appearing naked in their new music video for the track, Beliy Plachik.

The plotline is pretty simple: “[The girls] are swept into a dangerous world of obsession, drug abuse and murder.” Sounds a lot like the plot to Lindsay Lohan’s D-grade stripper romp, I Know Who Killed Me.

Lohan Pimps Birthday Party

What do you do when you have no money, but want a super-awesome birthday party to impress all of your rich, snob-nosed friends? You build a website and ask for sponsors to cough up the cash for it, of course!!

That’s what pressed-for-cash Lindsay Lohan has done, anyway!

The Mean Girls star is apparently desperate for a hot birthday bash for her 22nd birthday – because she missed out on her Pure-hosted 21st bash over that rehab thing – that’s the actress has had a website made which asks for sponsorship for an “internationally media worthy event.”

According to the site, which is said to be legitimate, “a group of 75 VIP guests” will attend the party, and will expect gift bags containing some of the hottest products around at that time. Gee, they don’t want for much, do they?

I doubt Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will be included on the guest list…

Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo Split

Another man bites the dust for Jessica Simpson! The pop star and her pro athelete beau, Tony Romo, have split, according to sources.

Last weekend, Romo and a few college pals had a number of ‘bachelor-style’ hard partying sessions in Chicago, which left many to speculate whether things between he and Simpson were on shaky ground. And they were, as one of Romo’s pals revealed that the Dallas Cowboys quarterback broke the news of the split on Saturday night.

“They’re broken up,” the pal said. “He told us they broke up and that was that. We’re guys so we didn’t talk about it much.”
