Katie Holmes Escapes Injury in Car Fire

Katie Holmes has narrowly escaped injury during a mishap on the set of her upcoming film, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, currently in production on Australia’s south coast.

The actress, who recently made her dancing debut on American reality show So You Think You Can Dance?, was shooting a scene inside a car at Victoria’s Docklands when the vehicle’s battery exploded over the weekend.

The battery allegedly sparked a couple times before emitting dangerous fumes and smoke, which eventually turned into a fire that engulfed the entire car.

Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is a Miramax remake of the 1973 ABC made-for-television film of the same name, in which Holmes’ character is stalked by evil gnomes. Sounds thrilling.

Unfortunately, the exploding battery isn’t part of the film.

Peaches Geldof to Study Scientology for the Fame

Peaches Geldof is one of those, poor, underprivileged celebrity kids that, despite having very famous parents, loads of cash and a high-partying lifestyle, isn’t actually that famous. She’s tried plenty of nifty tricks in the past to elevate her level of celebrity status: the numerous drug incidences, her shot-gun marriage to a fledgling rocker, etc, etc.

Now, however, Peaches has found the perfect way to ensure she spends the rest of her young life partying it up with New York’s “It” club – she’s going to convert to Scientology.

Yes, according to a pal of Peaches, the daughter of Sir Bob Geldof is planning to begin the necessary training to become a Scientologist like her idol, Katie Holmes, who she hopes to be bosom buddies with once she’s completed the indoctrination.

Ms. Geldof’s friend explained that Peaches became “totally smitten” with Holmes after interviewing the actress earlier in the year, and has since decided that Scientology is what she needs to make it in the world of the rich and famous.

“Peaches was very impressed by Katie, she loved interviewing her and really wanted to become friends with her,” said the pal. “She thought that taking up Scientology would be the perfect springboard to work her way into that New York clique.”

The friend added: “She knows her dad won’t be happy about it, but she feels it will help her move into bigger and better celeb circles, so she is willing to keep up with her studies to become a fully fledged Scientologist.”

Apparently Peaches Geldof is that shallow. Who knew??

Katie Holmes Trapped By Tom

Katie Holmes feels trapped in her marriage to Tom Cruise and is too terrified of losing her daughter to leave him reports the Enquirer.

Katie feels smothered by his control, with friends suggesting she is ready to snap.

She believes that if she left him, he’d make it nearly impossible for her to see Suri and Katie knows how that works, seeing first hand how he cut first Stepford Wife, Nicole Kidman out of the lives of their children. (Mind you, I think that has a lot to do with the choice of Kindman than Cruise).

Katie has everything money can buy, but as is often the case, that is not enough. She has no real close friends of her own and is ever under the watchful eye of Tom’s Scientology overlords.

Such is the life of a Stepford Wife.

Katie Holmes Got Conned

Star is reporting that Katie is feeling conned by Tom Cruise, because he hasn’t helped her to become a major  star.

Part of the ‘agreement’ when they started ‘dating’ was for Tom to make all her dreams come true. Apparently Katie is like many others, with her only dream being to become a major movie star.

The trouble is, none of that has happened for Mrs Cruise No. 3. While Tom helped launch frozen face Nicole’s career, he has failed to deliver the same rewards for Katie and she is not too happy about it.

Tom had apparently made the bold statement that with him managing her career, she would be a major star and the No. 1 female box-office earner in the World within 5 years.

Due to his controversial statements and behaviour, Tom’s star has itself waned considerably and presumably his Hollywood power along with it. With Valkyrie, he may reclaim some of his lost sparkle, time will tell.

I wonder if Katie’s contract has a get-out clause written into it???

Cruise’s Love For Katie is Real

Tom Cruise has proved that his love for wife Katie Holmes is about as real as Heidi and Spencer’s “not-so-impromptu” wedding in Mexico last week.

The Scientologist actor admitted that he fell “so hard” for Holmes that he’d already bought an engagement ring for the Dawson’s Creek star on their first date!

“I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her,” Cruise told Style magazine.

And when Holmes confessed that she’s dreamt of marrying the Top Gun star when she was a little girl, Cruise said he told her, “I wouldn’t want to disappoint [you].”

Cruise purchased the whopper of a diamond “shortly” after their first date in 2005, but held on to it for some time, because, he said, he was “trying to put Katie off” the scent.

“At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I put her off by changing the subject.”

“I wanted to ask her,” Cruise added.

Tiny Tom Tricks Out Cars With Bulletproof Glass

I love seeing photos of Tom and Katie, where she makes him look like a midget in spite of his high lift shoes, just like this pic I posted of them nearly two years ago.

Alright, so there may be a slight difference, with him having one foot in the gutter. I said gutter, not closet!

Anyway, I digress. This post is about Tom Tom and his bulletproof cars. In Touch Weekly reports that Tom is so concerned for his family’s safety that he has had all of them fitted with bulletproof windows and bombproof panels. On top of that, each of Tom’s chauffeurs are professionally trained defensive drivers.

How many does he have?

OK, I can go with the armor plating and the bulletproof glass, but I am not sure if I would be tricking out a performance car with an extra ton of weight.

Katie Holmes Bullies The Hired Help

Katie Holmes is developing a major attitude towards her hired help. Katie has reportedly been bullying her household help, with sources blaming her life with Tom for having changed her from a sweet little tramp thing into a snotty nosed bitch toff.

“She treats the help like slaves,” says the insider. “At times, she just leaves everything she doesn’t wear on the floor where it drops for the maids to hang up.

“That’s so unlike the old Katie, who would never want to be any trouble or be at all aloof.” And we thought she was just a Stepford robot these days! The insider also told of an incident where Katie took a sip of Tom’s “daily smoothie” after their housekeeper prepared it for him.

“One day, the housekeep was making Tom his daily smoothie and Katie came along and sipped a couple of inches from it. Then she told the housekeeper that she’d blame her for drinking it! She was just goofing around to see the woman squirm. The poor woman was terrified because she didn’t know what she was going to say to Tom.”

The stress of her new life in the spotlight of Tom Cruise is certainly taking its toll on Katie Holmes. Since the posting of yesterday’s story, the former Dawson’s Creek star collapsed at one of L.A.’s trendy eateries.

“She fainted at a lunch,” a source says. “Everyone is concerned about her.”
