Jessica Simpson has been left desperate and dateless on the eve of her 29th birthday, after her longtime boyfriend, Tony Romo, pulled the pin on their relationship.

The country music singer was forced to cancel her Barbie and Ken-themed party after her split with Romo, who was later seen out partying with the boys and flirting with random girls while his former girlfriend celebrated her birthday alone.

“He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table,” said an onlooker. “Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys.”

While Romo’s dumping has left Simpson heartbroken, a source close to the singer has revealed that it didn’t really come as a shock that the loved-up pair were parting ways.

“[Jessica] is heartbroken,” the source said. “She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her [new] show [The Price of Beauty]. They decided to part ways.”

The source added: “They were good together for a long time. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be.”

Jessica Simpson wants to get back in touch with her spiritual side, and has decided that studying theology at college could be the way to do it.

The pop star turned country music flop said that television – and not her former minister father, Papa Joe – inspired her to pursue religion as a future career.

“I’ve been contemplating taking a college course in religion,” the Dukes of Hazzard star told Marie Claire. “I love religion.

“I remember whenever the book ‘The Da Vinci Code’ came out, the Discovery Channel did this three-night piece on it that I TiVoed and then watched eight times.”

Jessica Simpson might be a box office flop in America, but in Russia, she’s their # 1 leading lady.

Believe it or not, Simpson’s new comedy, Major Movie Star – which didn’t even get cinematic release in the States – debuted at the top of the box office in Russia. Shocking, right? And because of the film’s success in Russia, it’s next port of call is Bulgaria, where it will even get a premiere!

Of course, Fox News was quick to point out that the film hasn’t managed to snag a cinematic release in any country which has English as its primary language, but still, Jessica’s gotta be as pleased as a pig in mud that the Russians love her.

It would be embarrassing enough for a celebrity to have an “upskirt” moment whilst shopping down Rodeo Drive, but to have it happen on LIVE MORNING TELEVISION would be so much worse.

And that’s just what happened to Jessica Simpson during an appearance on Good Morning America this week.

The singer – who’s just made the switch from pop to country music – was on the show to promote her new album, Do You Know, when the upskirt moment occurred.

Underwood Calls Simpson “Fat”

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood has drawn first blood in her bitter fight with country music rival, Jessica Simpson, dissing the busty blonde’s singing ability and her apparent weight gain.

A pal of Underwood’s told OK! magazine: “[Carrie] finds Jessica’s love of putting her life on display pretty desperate.”

When Underwood saw Jessica’s new cover story with People magazine – the one where she gushes about how Tony Romo (Carrie’s ex) is the love of her life – things got even cattier.

“[Underwood] laughed at the People cover,” the friend explained, “because it’s the same one Jess did about John Mayer [back when they were "in love"] – same smile, same look, except she’s a little fatter.”

Ouch! And that’s not all the Idol singer had to say about her bustier rival!

“Carrie doesn’t think fans will spend money to watch Jess warble through a few badly written songs,” Underwood’s pal added.

I’d tend to agree with that last part…

Jessica Simpson: “Romo is the Love of my Life!”

Jessica Simpson has finally put those pesky breakup rumours to rest, gushing about her “perfect” boyfriend, Tony Romo, to People magazine.

“I just told [Tony] today, ‘You’re the love of my life,’” Simpson confessed to the mag. “I don’t really ever say that to anybody.”

The singer, who’s just turned from the pop world to country music, added that she’s never been happier, and has no need for anyone else in her life… including those famous exes of hers!

“I don’t want anybody that’s been in my life [before] in my life anymore,” the 28-year-old explained. “I don’t even want them to have any way of contacting me.”

How does she stop them from calling? According to Jessica, she’s changed all her cell phone numbers and email addresses since her splits from ex-husband Nick Lachey and ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

She also manages to look astoundingly like fellow country music singer – and rival – Carrie Underwood, in the promo shots. Guess it’ll make it even easier for fans to mistake her for the American Idol winner.

Country Music Hates Jessica, Too

Looks like Jessica Simpson’s switch from pop to country wasn’t a very good move, after all.

The former pop star and sometimes-actress gave her first country performance on Saturday, when she opened for Sara Evans at the Country Thunder USA festival in Randall, Wisconsin, and was booed by the audience!

Simpson performed a slew of tunes, including Willie Nelson’s On The Road Again and You’re My Sunday, which she dedicated to partner Tony Romo, who was hiding somewhere in the crowd. She also sang her new single Come On Over, a track which has been met with mixed reactions since its release.

Before she began, Simpson had a little one-on-one with the audience in an attempt to talk down rumours of her mediocrity.

“I don’t know what your perception is of Jessica Simpson or what tabloid you buy, but I just want you to know that I’m just a girl from Texas,” she told the crowd. “I’m just like you. I’m doing what I love and dating a boy.”

However, her cheery opener was soon forgotten the moment she opened her mouth. Fans of the singer thought her performance was weak, and there was more booing than applause for the blonde starlet by the end of her stint on stage.

One witness quipped: “I’ll have to drink a lot of beer to sit through her concert.”

Another went a tad bit further, remarking: “[Simpson is] an embarrassement to country music!”

Mamela Anderson: “Jessica Simpson is a B*tch!”

Peta gal Mamela Anderson is so disgusted with pop tart Jessica Simpson’s stance on eating meat that the former Baywatch star has labelled the singer a “bitch” and a “whore.”

Simpson recently wore a t-shirt sporting the slogan “Real Girls Eat Meat,” a publicity stunt Pamela – a devoted vegetarian and animal lover – thinks was an “inconsiderate” choice of clothing.

An angry Anderson hit back at the country music singer on an Australian radio station earlier today, fuming: “I think [Jessica] is a bitch and whore.”

“Actually,” Anderson added, “I don’t know if she was talking about food or men.”

Ouch! Anderson, a long-time vegetarian, told the station that she was proud of not eating meat. “I think it’s healthy, good for your body and good for the environment.”
