As we reported last week, Shania Twain and her husband Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange are separating after 14 years of marriage. Now we can report the reason why.

People reports that Mutt was a real dog and was shagging his married secretary.

“Sources close to the situation say a third party was involved: Marie Ann Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland. “Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship,” says one source.

Lange denies the claims. “It’s absolutely not the reason [for the separation],” the famously reclusive producer told PEOPLE when asked about the alleged affair. He also denied that he was in a romantic relationship with Thiébaud: “I’m not, no,” he said. “It’s not true.” (Thiébaud could not be reached for comment.)”

Nothing quite like shagging the hired help to bring a marriage undone.

Country singer Shania Twain and her producer husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange, have split after a 14-year marriage, Shania’s rep has revealed.

“Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage,” Twain’s spokesperson Jason Owen said in a statement this morning. “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”

Twain and Lange met and married in 1993, after a six-month courtship. They have one child together – Eja D’Angelo, six.

Liv Tyler & Husband Split

Live Tyler and her British rocker husband, Royston Langdon, have split after a five-year marriage, People.com has confirmed.

A rep for Tyler told the entertainment site earlier today that the couple had decided to divorce, but would remain friends and continue to devote time to their son, Milo.

“Liv Tyler and Royston Langdon have confirmed their separation,” Tyler’s rep said. “They remain good friends and devoted parents to their son Milo and are requesting that their family’s privacy be respected at this time.”

Thirty-year-old Tyler married Langdon (36) in a private ceremony in the Caribbean in 2003. They had son Milo in December 2004.
