It’s Not Hip To Be Gay

Gay

It’s not hip to be gay, at least not in Hollywood. Openly gay British actor Ian McKellen says its impossible for gay Hollywood actors to have successful careers.

Canadian actor Adamo Ruggiero, says it was relatively easy for him to come out about his gayness, but he says it is not as easy for Hollywood actors.

“My heart goes out to a lot of the young people in Hollywood because they really do have a whole different set of pressures than I have here in Toronto”.

“I had newspapers that were cheering me on and congratulating me and at the same time respecting my privacy. And I wondered to myself: Would it have been the same situation in America? I don’t think so.”

John Webster, who writes a pop culture blog for Xtra.ca agrees and says that most of the actors coming out recently are TV stars – no major movie stars have taken the brave step, even though there are many well-known actors in Tinseltown whose homosexuality is an open secret despite the presence of spouses and children.

I wouldn’t fly with that mission and name them, or their beards.

“But the major movie studios seem to feel that audiences simply will not buy a gay actor in a heterosexual role, so no leading men or women are coming out. And personally, I would love to see a star on the level of George Clooney come out. That’s when you would really see things change.”

Gee I wonder why he mentioned George???

George Clooney Clowning

George Clooney has said he is scared of Internet critics what is said about him on Staralicious because it is so “brutal”.

He has admitted he avoids looking himself up on Google because there were so many blogs “trashing” him.

Mate, I don’t even look myself up on Google, geez, what is with that? Do you really need to look yourself up on Google to know who you are, isn’t your mirror enough for you?

Clooney says it is better to live in ignorance than face all the horrible comments made by bloggers. Oh come on George, we never give you are hard time here. Actually, George just said he is scared of what is said on the Internet in general, we are not that nasty…. ;-)

He told the Daily Express: “A few years ago, I went to check out this website that someone had talked about. There’s like, a thousand people sitting in dark rooms trashing you. Brutal! You’re like, ‘Wow, dude’.”

He added: “You see way too many angry people [on the internet]. I remember getting off the machine and thinking, ‘Never, ever again’. I’d rather live in my own happy, quiet world where I think that everyone is nice.”

That’s very fagadelic of you George.
