Australian Idol has possibly snagged its biggest ever guest star!
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, two former Destiny’s Child performers have “been approached” to appear on this year’s Australian Idol finale show, set to air on November 23.
However, a source told the newspaper that a cameo appearance from the biggest name of all – Beyonce Knowles – isn’t looking too likely at this stage, with Beyonce’s peeps not “overly enthused” about the idea of the Grammy-award-winner appearing on a reality singing show.
“It’s not looking promising with Beyonce but we may end up with someone like [fellow Destiny's Child singer] Kelly Rowland appearing at the Opera House,” the soure said.
In its sixth season locally, Australian Idol is looking to revamp its aging format, and producers hope an appearance by a former Destiny’s Child bandmate will bring the massive audiences from previous series’ back to the Network Ten show.
Australian Idol, Season 6, will premiere on August 24.

Britney’s Cameo Axed From Dolls Clip

As part of her comeback to the music industry, pop star Britney Spears filmed a cameo scene last week, that was to be part of the video clip for the Pussycat Dolls’ latest track, When I Grow Up.
However, it turns out that the Dolls didn’t plan on using Spears’ scene at all, and have axed it from the final cut.
Spears filmed the short scene last week, driving in a car for her brief cameo appearance. A source explained: “[Britney and the Dolls] wave at each other as they are passing in traffic  that is it. Of course, Britney looks hot and blond. It is a very short sequence, but [Britney] had a lot of fun with it. Britney really likes the Dolls’ music and when she saw them on the MTV [Movie Awards], she was totally down to do the video.”
But Britney’s dream to be in a Pussycat Dolls clip has been shattered, with producers “opting against” using her brief cameo in the final cut of the band’s music video.
Neither Spears’ nor the Dolls’ camp will comment on the axing of the scene, but since it was a planned attempt to get Britney back in the spotlight – in a positive way – the shelving of the short clip is bound to upset someone. Most likely Britney.
