Britney Spears Converting to Judaism?

Britney Spears has added fuel to the fire of the rumours of her engagement by considering coverting to Juadism, according to reports.

Spears’ boyfriend Jason Trawick is Jewish, and the pop star is so eager to show her commitment to him that she’s taken to wearing a Star of David necklace and even recruited a Rabbi to help her better understand his faith.

A source revealed: “Britney wants to try the religion Jason was brought up with.”

According to the source, Spears could be looking at tying the knot again – with Trawick – as most non-Jewish spouses only consider a conversion to Judaism before they marry someone from the faith (the most recent example of this being Aussie Isla Fisher’s conversion before marrying Sasha Baron Cohen).

Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo Split

Jessica Simpson has been left desperate and dateless on the eve of her 29th birthday, after her longtime boyfriend, Tony Romo, pulled the pin on their relationship.

The country music singer was forced to cancel her Barbie and Ken-themed party after her split with Romo, who was later seen out partying with the boys and flirting with random girls while his former girlfriend celebrated her birthday alone.

“He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table,” said an onlooker. “Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys.”

While Romo’s dumping has left Simpson heartbroken, a source close to the singer has revealed that it didn’t really come as a shock that the loved-up pair were parting ways.

“[Jessica] is heartbroken,” the source said. “She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her [new] show [The Price of Beauty]. They decided to part ways.”

The source added: “They were good together for a long time. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be.”

Blobby Thorpe Has A Brazilian Lover

Do you remember that South Park episode where, Tom Cruise wouldn’t come out of the closet? You can probably add another name to the list. I am not suggesting it is Ian Thorpe just because he is in the image here and the title. Plus Ian continually denies being gay, so it can’t be him now can it.

On a side note, a newly pudgy Thorpe has come out and said that he is in love with someone from another country. No word on who it is though.

Between revealing that he is in love with someone from another country, it is good to see that this has not stopped Ian from spending a lot of time with Brazilian swimmer, Daniel Mendes, who he has reportedly been living with in Australia for three years.

Thorpe’s former coach Tracey Menzies introduced the pair and they became bum training buddies.

A ‘friendship’ developed from there and love blossomed, as the pair became closer. The pair are not total recluses though, with them attending the 2007 Australia’s Next Top Model finale and the 2008 MTV Awards together.

However, photos of the two together are hard to find, with the images below being taken recently when the happy couple friends were holidaying with Mendes’ family in Brazil at Christmas after first spending time with Thorpe’s family in Australia..

Hathaway Breaks Silence on Former Boyfriend’s Arrest

For the first time since splitting with Raffaello Follieri, Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has broken her silence on her former flame’s shock arrest in June.

“As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a press tour for Get Smart,” Hathaway told W magazine. “And then I spent a week in shock at a friend’s house.”

“It’s a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden,” Hathaway said of the incident. “But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, ‘Go stay at my house.’

“And [Get Smart co-star] Steve Carell stepped up for me during an interview when someone asked a question [about it]. He said, ‘At some point you’re going to have to talk about this time in your life. You don’t have to do it this week. I’ll take care of anything that comes your way.’”

The Princess Diaries star added: “I’ve been shown such kindness. Not everyone gets that. A lot of people go through tough times alone.”

Incidentally, Hathaway called it quits with Follieri over the phone “just hours” before he was arrested for money laundering and fraud. Follieri has since pleaded guilty to all charges, and will serve more than four years in prison for his crimes.

Sounds like Anne got out just in the nick of time!

Christina Applegate’s Boyfriend Found Dead

Lee Grivas, the on/off boyfriend of actress Christina Applegate, was found dead in his apartment on Tuesday, TMZ.com reported.

The 26-year-old’s body was discovered in the living room of his Hollywood apartment by a neighbour on July 1st. Paramedics were called to the scene, and Grivas was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m.

An autopsy on his body has not yet been completed, however, those on the scene have told the press that there were “no visible signs of trauma,” which could indicate a drug overdose.

Applegate and Grivas have been seeing each other on and off for years. The pair met through a dancer who worked with Applegate in her Broadway show, Sweet Charity.
