Actress Natalie Portman has taken a brief trip to Bollywood, appearing in boyfriend Devendra Banhart’s new music video, Carmensita.

The video for the folk rock track is a send-up of the entire Bollywood scene, with snappy subtitles at the bottom and a host of cheesy special effects. Portman plays a princess whom Banhart’s character must rescue, with the aide of his “rebellious beard.”

It sounds ridiculous – and it is – but it’s a laugh, nonetheless.
