Jade Goody Dies

Former Big Brother U.K. star Jade Goody has died in her sleep after a very public battle with cervical cancer.

Goody’s agent, Max Clifford, made the announcement a short time ago after receiving the confirmation from the 27-year-old’s mother, Jackiey Budden.

“It’s just very sad,” Clifford said, on the verge of tears. “We got very close and I’ve got a lot of respect and admiration for the girl. She was a 27-year-old girl facing up to cervical cancer.”

Clifford received a phone call from Budden shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, who told him: “My beautiful girl has gone.”

Ironically, Goody passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning – Mother’s Day in Great Britain – after agreeing to live the last weeks of her life in the public eye to give her sons the best possible chance at a future free from financial struggle.

The controversial reality television star first learned that she had cancer whilst competing in the Indian version of Big Brother.

Whatever your opinion of Goody, I am sure you will all join me in sending your condolences to her family, husband and sons, who now face life without such a strong, vibrant character in their lives. May you rest in peace, Jade.

Former ‘Big Brother’ Winner Going Blind

Regina “Reggie” Sorenson, the 2003 winner of Australian Big Brother, has a degenerative eye disease and is going blind.

The former chip shop owner found out about the delibitating disease – known as retinitis pigmentosa – just three weeks ago, and has been rapidly losing her eyesight since the diagnosis was made.

“I will go blind. I was devastated and so upset. I knew it was there, but now that it has gotten really bad… it has just really hit me,” Reggie told Woman’s Day magazine.

The 34-year-old added that she was now declared “legally blind,” and that her greatest fear was not being able to watch her daughter, 16-month-old Mia, grow up.

However, there may be hope for the one-time reality television star. Scientists in the U.K. are trailling an experimental gene therapy to combat the disease, and Reggie and her family are considering relocating to the United Kingdom so she can be included in the trials.

Big Brother Australia Cancelled

Big Brother in Australia is no more.

The once popular reality television series has been canned after a disappointing eighth season, which saw the nightly number of viewers slip by 1.8 million.

The decision to cancel the show was made by Ten programmers last last week, something that was heartily backed by the network’s board of directors. Endemol Southern Star, the producers behind Big Brother, were informed shortly after the decision was made official, but opted to keep the axing secret over the weekend while former Baywatch star Anderson – who was reportedly paid over half a million dollars for her few hours of footage – was injected into the mix.

Ten’s chief programmer David Mott said in a statement last night: “This decision has been going back and forth for sometime and we have been having a very close look at it.

“But it has still been a tough call, and while the numbers are still working it is now time for us to move forward.”

Rove McManus first announced the axing on his Network Ten variety show Rove, commenting that “not even Pamela Anderson” could “resuscitate” the floundering reality series.

“Eric Threatened Me With Sex Tape,” Says BB’s Brigitte

Since her snap eviction from the Australian Big Brother house on Wednesday night, there’s been a surge of Brigitte-related news on the web, not all of it pleasant.

Throughout her time in the house, blonde bombshell Brigitte spoke of an “Eric,” someone who everyone on the outside – and inside, for a time – thought was her boyfriend. In short, she was terrified of interacting with any of the males on the show, for fear her “beau” would take it the wrong way and think she was flirting or trying to start a new relationship.

Apparently, this wasn’t far from the truth. Brigitte was literally terrified of even talking to any of the boys in the Big Brother compound, but not for the reasons given on the 7 p.m. Daily Shows.

In an interview with YourTV.com.au, 21-year-old Brigitte revealed that just prior to entering the Big Brother house, “Eric” had threatened her with the existence of a sex tape involving her, and told her that if she acted up with any of the boys, he’d release it to the worldwide web.

Needless to say, Brigitte was distraught, and cites this as the only reason behind her two months of tantrums and cries to go home.

However, the day after her mid-week eviction, Eric made an announcement on a Big Brother forum, telling fans across the country that Brigitte was nothing but a crazed “stalker” who “threatened to kill herself” on a regular basis and “bashed” up any girl who came near him.

Evicted ‘Big Brother’ Housemate Brigitte a Stalker?

Brigitte, the 21-year-old buxom blonde who became the latest evictee of this year’s season of Big Brother when she was booted from the house in a snap eviction last night, is allegedly a stalker.

According to her friend, the infamous “Eric,” Brigitte has taken her obsession with him to the extreme, doing drive bys of his house, bashing up his girlfriends, and even threatening to harm herself if he continued to refuse to be with her.

Throughout her stay in the house, Brigitte told her fellow housemates that Eric was her boyfriend – something which Eric insists is not, and never has been, true – and also hinted that he was a controlling partner, and would not look kindly on her for any of her interactions with males in the house. The young girl even went so far as to blame her relationship with Eric for barely speaking to the male members of the house for the first few weeks of her stay.

Since Brigitte’s accusations first appeared on the show, Eric has been inundated with abuse, both in real life and on the various Big Brother web forums, over his mistreatment of the blonde beauty. In order to clear his name, Eric made an appearance on last night’s eviction show, which, ironically enough, saw Brigitte evicted from the house.

During his short appearance, Eric explained that he’s never been Brigitte’s boyfriend, and that the two were simply “friends.” When co-host Kyle Sandilands pressed him about his claims that Brigitte was a stalker, he refused to comment further.

However, Eric has now decided to speak out truthfully about his relationship with the young Big Brother evictee, revealing “his” side of the story on the ‘Behind Big Brother’ forums.

Mamela Won’t Go Nude in Aussie ‘Big Brother’ House

Former Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson has entered the Australian Big Brother house, but has ruled out showering nude or sunbaking topless during her three-day stint on the Gold Coast, much to the disappointment of her many male fans, I’m sure.

The buxom blonde burst into the house just before 9 p.m. AEST last night, shortly after fellow blonde Brigitte, 21, was booted back into the real world.

According to a source, Mamela won’t spend the entire three days in the Big Brother compound, and will be free to “flit in and out” as she sees fit. No doubt she’ll jump between the tiny Gold Coast complex and her 5-star luxury condo at the Palazzo Versace hotel.

During a press conference outside the Palazzo yesterday, the serial Playboy covergirl admitted that she was being paid “a lot” for her three-day appearance on Network Ten’s hit reality show, though she refused to reveal just how big her paycheck was.

“Much more than I’m worth. I had to come. I can’t believe it,” she said. When she was asked if she’d received more than $500,000 from Big Brother’s producers, Anderson added: “I don’t want to say how much, but it was a lot.”

However, Pamela insisted that the whopping paycheck wasn’t the only thing that drew her in to the Big Brother appearance. “I think it’s a lot of fun and I like doing things people tell me not to do and this is definitely one of those things,” she said.

Mamela Anderson In Aussie Big Brother Sleepover Tonight

Mamela Anderson busts into the Aussie Big Brother house tonight for a three day stay.

Mammy is already on the Gold Coast and reportedly visiting the tigers at Dreamworld, where the Big Brother house is located. She was also seen at the Palazzo Versace Hotel yesterday.

Her Aussie stay is forecast to feature in her upcoming reality TV series.

I wonder if they told Mamela that there is only one giant bed in the house that everyone shares? It’ll be interesting to see which one gets Mammy as a pillow.

Mind you, that should not be unfamiliar to Mammy, who has done the Playboy thing a few times, so knows the workings of Hugh’s mansion.
