U.K. action star Jason Statham made an appearance on Australian variety show Rove last night, promoting his new movie, The Bank Job.

Statham has been in the country since Wednesday, when he walked the red carpet in Sydney for the Australian premiere of his latest film, based on the real-life London robbery of 1971 which allegedly involved the Queen’s daughter, Princess Margaret.

Staralicious was invited to the premiere of the movie on Wednesday night, but we couldn’t organise things in time to attend. Damn…

The Bank Job opens in cinemas across Australia on July 31.

The train-wrecked pop tart, who’s actually been cleaning up her act a bit in recent times, has returned to CBS’ hit show How I Met Your Mother, reprising her role as the ditzy receptionist, Abby.

Spears said in a statement on Monday: “I had such a great experience the last time I was on the show that I couldn’t wait to come back. I was really looking forward to working with this cast and crew again.”

“Everyone was so nice,” she added. “Abby is going to have a lot of fun!”

This time, the ditzy Abby is well and truly over Ted (Josh Radnor), whom she was pining over in the last episode. Instead, she hooks up with Neil Patrick Harris’ character, Barney, who’s a serial flirt and womanizer.

In one scene, the new “couple” wear matching V-neck baby blue sweaters, and according to CBS, head to the show’s local bar to “flaunt their new relationship in Ted’s face.”

The show will air on CBS on May 12.

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus won’t be attending the scheduled red carpet event for the ‘Disney Channel Games’ this Friday, a Disney representative confirmed today.

The 15-year-old daughter of singer Billy Ray Cyrus “is no longer expected” to make an appearance at the public event, Disney said. It was to be her first public event since topless photos of the young star were published in Vanity Fair magazine last week.

For weeks, Cyrus was advertised to be in attendance at the Disney media party in Orlando taking place tomorrow, along with several other Disney Channel stars.

Disney refused to elaborate on the reason for Cyrus’ canceled appearance.

Earlier in the week, Cyrus said she was “embarrassed” by the provocative shots (taken by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz) and apologised to her fans.
