Sylvester Stallone

Sly has aplogised to the public and judicial system, after pleading guilty to importing 48 vials of human growth hormone (hgh) as well as possessing testosterone during a visit to Sydney in February.

Sly’s barrister Phillip Boulten told the court Stallone was taking both substances under medical supervision for a medical condition, which was not revealed in court.

“This is not some back-alley body builder dealing covertly with some banned substance in some sort of secret way,” he said.

“This was a legitimate medical condition being treated by doctors of the top-ranking order in the west coast of the United States.”

The incident had caused the actor “a great deal of discomfort”, Mr Boulten said.

“His questioning, the charging, the court process itself has been something that he would never have deliberately decided to expose himself to,” he said.

I think the condition he alluded to is known as Ramboitis, a congenital affliction that gets progressively worse while trying to relive past glories by recreating movies from a bygone era.

While the symptoms of Ramboitis may appear quite similar to a midlife crisis, the two are quite different. The onset of a midlife traditionally begins at 40 years of age; generally lasting no more than a few years. Ramboitis on the other hand can appear much earlier, and lasting a few years before going into remission for up to two decades before making a more virulent return.

Ramboitis should not be confused with the similar condition known as Rockyitis.
