Sutherland To Face Jail Time

Actor Kiefer Sutherland, who was caught driving under the influence of alcohol last month, has just entered a plea deal which will see him do at least 30 days behind bars. The 24 star pleaded “no contest,” through his attorney Blair Berk, to the charge of “driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit” on Tuesday.
Part of the arrangement Berk made on Sutherland’s behalf includes the actor enrolling in an 18-month alcohol education program, and attending “weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.”
However, as Sutherland is already serving probation for a similar charge in 2004, he could face up to six months in prison for violating that probation.
His sentencing is set for the date of December 21st. What a lovely Christmas present it would be for him if he actually got some serious jail time thrown at him… not that I’m anticipating that would happen, given his celebrity status and all.
