Stars Pull Heath Drug Video From Media

Scarlett Johansson & Natalie Portman Stand Behind Heath Ledger

Several well-known celebrities, which include Scarlett Johansson and Star Wars babe Natalie Portman, have made emotional pleas to media giants Entertainment Tonight and The Insider, begging them not to air the controversial Heath Ledger drug video that was recently purchased.

According to PageSix.com, the stars and their associated publicity firms pleaded “human to human” with the producers of the top rating celebrity gossip shows in a bid to prevent the late Heath Ledger’s name being dragged through the mud with a drug video that doesn’t even show the Dark Knight star consuming any illegal substances.

Johansson and Portman, along with the other stars involved in the stand-off, have not threatened to boycott the shows, but have reached out in a “human” way to stop further exploitation of Ledger’s death and his grieving family.

Entertainment Tonight was the first to shelve the video footage (which they bought for 200K), and released a statement last night in regards to their change of heart: “Out of respect for Heath Ledger’s family, ET has decided not to run the Heath Ledger video being released to the world media today.”
