Hmm, great minds think alike. ;) Now it's my turn to agree with you. It IS exactly that - his attempt to turn the spotlight away from himself and his own issues. He could get just as 'fair' a trial in my home state as he could in New York. And then he goes on talking about his 'acting' abilities. What's THAT got to do with tax evasion? When they took down Capone, he didn't go around saying, "Well, you know, I'm pretty good at shooting pool, so that must be why they hate me." Besides, some of those other guys named in the article are FAR better actors, imho. "Classical-theater training" or not. You find yourself in agreement with me again? My thought is that by playing the racist card, Snipes diverts attention from the real issues and introduces something totally unrelated into the equation. If he really believes this, then he is the one with the issues. If he if is only using this as an excuse to take the heat off himself, then he has no real empathy with genuine racism and all its abhorrent realities and this provides is a far greater example of the self serving nature of his personality and the depths of his ego. That's kind of insulting, and rather 'stereotypical' of him to say, and if you really look into it, it's also a rather bigoted statement. He wanted the trial to take place in New York where the black folks would most likely be on his jury. Can the prosecution get a fair trial? Perhaps. Perhaps not. So who's the bigot here? What a jerk.
