Site Issues

This is the second time I have written this post, so this time it isn’t as complete as the previous posting. the entire saga is too long to go into, but after staying up until 2:00AM, I went to bed and got up at 5:00AM to try and fix it.
Well as you would know if you have visited the site during the previous 24 hours, staralicious has been down for a while. The host spat the dummy again over the number of users the site was getting and the fact that it was using far too much of the server resources.
To rectify this and improve the site delivery, I have upgraded to a much better server, with a corresponding upgrade in the hosting cost. The new plan costs 630% more then the previous plan. It should be faster to load and not go down any more.
Now some people would say this sounds a lot like a wife, except for the fast loading bit.
Not me though, I’d never say such a thing.
So why is this the second time I have written this post?
Well I was not even allowed access to my files by the host, so could not get them off, or back them up at all. They agreed to give me access for a short time. The site is pretty huge, so I have been downloading and backing up massive amounts of files and data.
I have also been replicating it offline on my own development server. I figure now is the ideal time to do a site upgrade that I have been putting off and wanted to test it offline before doing an update to the active site.
I was a little distracted when I was doing this and having a problem with the database on the offline site, I decided to delete it and start again. The problem with this was that I was actually in the database of starlicious.com and actually deleted everything from there.
Gee I was happy. Oh I might have said a few choice words like fluffy wombat, but generally it was no big deal.

Adding this ontop of everything else has made it real super.
Anyway, all should work properly from here on I hope.
