Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has given a “staggering” amount of money to the reward fund of missing British girl, Madeleine McCann, who disappeard in Portugal nearly two weeks ago.

The reward fund was started by a tabloid newspaper, in the hopes that the large sum of money collected would ensure the safe return of the four-year-old girl. While Ms. Rowling wishes to keep her pledged figure a secret, a source at the paper has revealed the amount given was “staggering,” and that it was the single largest contribution by anyone.

They also added that Rowling’s sum was much bigger than that of Topshop owner Sir Philip Green, who pledged a whopping AUD$600,000 of his fortune to the reward kitty.

So far, the total amount has reached over AUD$3.6 million!
