Paris Hilton’s supposed “mental instability” over her May 4th sentencing for probation violation has seen her weasel out of an appearance at a US$10 million civil trial, brought against her by diamond heiress, Zeta Graff.
The battle of the heiresses was due to take place on May 21st, but has since been postponed to August 22nd, after Hilton’s shrink, Charles Sophy, declared that the socialite was “not capable of any meaningful participation” in the trial.
Sophy claimes that Paris is “emotionally distraught and traumatized” from her sentencing earlier in the month, and so “cannot effectively respond to examination as a witness or provide any significant input into her defense.”
He even went so far as to say that forcing Paris to participate in the trial would “exacerbate her current mental condition.”
The lawsuit was taken out by Graff in 2005, after Hilton allegedly spread “vicious lies” about the diamond heiress, which were then printed in the New York Post.
