Earlier today, reality star Nicole Richie was granted a continuence in her DUI trial, pushing the date of her “prison or no prison” decision back to August 16th.
Richie’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, got the delay for the mum-to-be after arguing that the trial couldn’t go forward without the key drug-expert witness of theirs, who is currently on holidays overseas.
“Dr. Terence McGee is going to challenge the prosecution’s scientific evidence,” Holley said. “Observations were made of Ms. Richie that he can [refute].”
If Nicole is convicted of DUI for the second time, she will face a minimum of four days in the slammer, and at least three years of probation.
