Nicole Richie Sentenced to Jail!

What a wonderful story to wake up to this Saturday morning!!
Following in her Simple Life co-star’s footsteps, Nicole Richie was sentenced to jail in a Los Angeles court on Friday, after pleading guilty to driving under the influence for the second time. Granted, it was only a four-day sentence, which means she’ll spend significantly less time in prison than good pal Hilton did, but at least it’s something, right?
As well as the four-day jail stint, Richie must enroll in an alcohol education program, and serve a three-year probation term, as was agreed by the judge and herself for lessening the standard 3-month prison term to less than a week.
Nicole has also been ordered to pay a fine of $2,048 - wow! That’ll break the piggy bank!
During the sentencing, the L.A. County Commissioner, Steven Lubell, scolded Richie for her poor behaviour, saying, “Someone could’ve gotten killed. You need to understand that driving under the influence is extremely dangerous.”
While there was no surrender date set, Richie must complete her prison time before September 28, and has the option of serving her measley amount of time in a paid city jail, which is apparently a lot more extravagant than the county jail Paris had to contend with.
