Nicole Richie Pleads Not Guilty

Nicole Richie has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence on December 11 of last year.
She was arrested driving the wrong way on the 134 Freeway in Burbank.
Nicole’s attorney entered her plea today, and a pretrial hearing has been set for April 2.
What I don’t understand is how she can admit to taking drugs at the scene of her arrest, and then plead not guilty in court?? Sounds pretty stupid to me…admitting it and then changing your story.
