Nicole Richie has decided that with all the money she and beau Joel Madden have, they don’t really need all those lovely baby shower gifts, so the mum-to-be is donating them all to charity.
Richie and her Good Charlotte rocker boyfriend will “donate baby gifts to 100 expectant families in need through the newly-formed Richie Madden Foundation through the Los Angeles Free Clinic.” Aww…

“It’s really sweet,” Rashida Jones, one of the guests of Richie’s Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower said. “With all the swag these days, we’re given so much stuff it’s almost wasteful, and it’s kind of nice when we’re giving to each other to give to someone else.”
Apparently, most of the guests who attended the shower gave two gifts, one for Nicole, Joel and the new baby, and one to give to their new charity. I agree with Rashida, it’s so nice to see when celebrities use their fame and money to do some good in the world. Perhaps Nicole’s friend, Paris, should take a leaf out of her book?
