Nicole & Joel Soon To Be Engaged?

A little slip on air during ABC’s Live! With Regis and Kelly show this morning has apparently ruined the surprise rocker Joel Madden had for his pregnant girlfriend, Nicole Richie… and that surprise would be something small, sparkling and gold.
After a performance on the show with his band, Good Charlotte, Joel was questioned by Regis about his private life with Nicole, and accidentally let slip that he intended to buy her a present, in the form of “a little ring.”
“You’re going to present her, maybe, with – did I hear the right thing, or should I not even talk about this?” Regis asked after focusing on the topic of Nicole for some time.
“Uh, what?” Madden responded.
“A little ring, or something,” said Regis.
“I was hoping it would be a surprise, but now –” answered Madden.
Following that confession, Regis promptly lavished attention on the “other Madden,” seemingly ignoring the juicy tid-bit Joel had just fed him. I guess the question we all want asked now is whether Joel was serious in his response, or whether it was all just a big act to fool the press… Either way, with a little under five months to go until the baby arrives, there’s still plenty of time for Joel to make an honest woman of his girlfriend…
