Michelle Williams on Heath: “My Heart is Broken.”

Since Australian actor Heath Ledger’s shock death on January 22, his former fiance, Michelle Williams, has hidden from the limelight while she tries to come to terms with the tragic loss. The Brokeback Mountain star broke her silence today, however, telling the media through Ledger’s rep that she is “heartbroken” after hearing of his passing.
“Please respect our need to grieve privately” Williams said. “My heart is broken.”
She continues: “I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father,” Williams continued in her statement.
“All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day.
“His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still.
Williams concluded: “She will be brought up with the best memories of him.”
According to a source on the Swedish set of Michelle’s new movie, Mammoth, when the actress first heard the news of Heath’s untimely death, “she cried and screamed.”
