The marriage of pop idol Madonna to movie mogul Guy Ritchie has finally come to the end, though not officially, of course!
According to News of the World, Mads and hubby Ritchie are well and truly over, but the former couple don’t plan on announcing anything on the subject for at least the next 18 months, giving them both time to work on how best to milk the publicity from it.
Mads has a new album on the way - Hard Candy - and doesn’t want news of their divorce to overshadow the promotions of her latest pop offering.

A source claims: “Madonna and Guy are over. It’s all very amicable. They’ve just fallen out of love with each other. They just think it’s for the best as after some great years together they’ve been going their separate ways. Guy has failed to show up at events which are important to Madge. He just hasn’t taken as much interest as he has previously in what she’s doing.”
After their split is made ‘official’, Madonna and their children will make the move across the great Atlantic to her home town of New York, while Guy will remain in London by himself.
I know they say the split is amicable now, but in 18 months’ time, when they both plan on making things official, the ‘amicability’ may have changed…
Will this be another Mills/McCartney-type showdown in court??
