Lindsay Lohan Does Prison Time

Georgia Rule star, Lindsay Lohan, has checked in and out of jail this morning, serving her minimum 24-hour sentence that was “part of her plea deal” in her two cases of DUI.

The troubled actress, who’s had a string of alcohol and drug-related offenses in her short life, checked out of the Lynwood prison just 84 minutes after she arrived, receiving much the same time as fellow celeb Nicole Richie did a few months back.

The Sheriff’s department website says that the serial rehab-er “turned herself in at 10:30 am, and was released at 11:54 am.” Even though her sentencing asked for 24 hours to be served, she was sent home early due to that particular prison’s “long-standing policy of releasing non-violent offenders early from the overcrowding.”

Steve Whitmore, the Sheriff’s spokesman, told People.com earlier today: “Ms. Lohan was cooperative.

“She was fingerprinted, photographed, and put in a holding cell, but was let go due to our early release policy.”

Whitmore added that LiLo was also “strip searched” during her short stint in prison.

Lohan will serve the remainder of her sentence during 10 days of community service, which she started on Monday at an American Red Cross facility in an unnamed L.A. suburb. She will also spend the next three years on probation, and must complete an 18-month alcohol program.
