Justin Hawkins has quit The Darkness due to his fears of relapsing into drug addiction.
Hawkins has been free of drugs since checking himself into London’s Priory clinic 9 weeks ago.
The Glam Rocker who rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single I Believe In A Thing Called Love was consuming 5 grams of nose candy a week, at £1000 or more.
He would regulrarly have 4 day drug and alcohol binges, often snorting lines of coke during shows. [Source]
In further bad news for the remaining band members, their record label, Atlantic Records has decided to ditch the band.
Despite poor sales of their second album One Way Ticket to Hell and Back, the band members, including his guitarist brother Dan – planned to continue without him. [Source]
