Jurassic Park 4 In The Works
Just when you thought the whole “genetically-engineered” dinosaur thing had been finally laid to rest, news comes of an entirely new sequel in the works, titled Jurassic Park IV: Attack of the Grenade-Launching Dinos!
Ok, so it’s not really called that, but according to Cinematical.com, the dinosaurs this time around will be weiling real-life weapons! Ridiculous, right?
Cinematical explains: “We’re told that the film is about the government who has trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes.”
Apparently, actress Laura Dern (who played Dr. Ellie Sattler in the first film) has already signed on to the new project, and casting is currently underway to fill the other slots. However, the sources can confirm that actor Sam Neill has refused to take part this time around… thank goodness for that!
The script is said to still be in developement, so let’s hope that by the tentative release date of 2008, the writers can come up with something a little better than dinosaurs with guns. I mean, as if having people “stumble” upon their island paradise over and over again isn’t far-fetched enough, now they have to be able to shoot missiles and fire rockets? Cra-azy!
