Jamie Lynn’s Boyfriend to Face Rape Charges?

As if the Spears didn’t already have enough drama in the family, another bombshell was dropped today. Jamie Lynn’s boyfriend, Casey Aldridge, could end up facing rape charges over having sexual relations with her, despite the fact that it was consensual.
Aldridge is apparently 18 or 19 years old, and with Jamie Lynn only 16 (and pregnant!), he could find himself in more than a little hot water. From what’s been said so far, the charges will depend on where exactly the “intercourse” took place.

If the couple copulated in the Spears home state of Louisiana, and if Casey was 19 at that time, the soon-to-be father could face charges of “felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile,” which the Louisiana court defines as “sexual intercourse with consent between someone age 19 or older and someone between age 12 and 17.”
Assuming Casey was younger than 19 at conception, he might get away with only a misdemeanor charge.
The local sheriff’s department in Kentwood, Louisiana, issued a brief statement on the case earlier: “No criminal investigation is currently underway.”
