Ike Turner Dies

Ike Turner, the infamous former husband of singer Tina Turner, passed away this morning at the age of 76.
Turner’s manager, Scott Hanover of Thrill Entertainment, released the news of his death earlier. “Ike Turner passed away this morning. He was at his home.” Mr. Hanover did not have any further details on the star’s death at this point.
The singer, who hit a career high in the 1950’s, was best known for “pioneering” rock ‘n’ roll, and also for his somewhat tumultuous relationship with Tina Turner. ÂÂ
In a brief statement released by her own management team, Tina acknowledges Ike’s death, but refused to comment further on the matter.
“Tina is aware that Ike passed away earlier today,” her management said. “She has not had any contact with him in 35 years. No further comment will be made.”
