Breaking news, folks! Oscar winning actress Halle Berry has just given birth to a healthy baby girl at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old X-Men star had previously checked herself into the hospital only a few hours earlier with contractions, but the baby wasn’t going anywhere, so she was sent home. Later in the evening on the same day, Halle returned to the hospital with much stronger contractions, and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl some 11 hours later.
An insider at the hospital revealed: “Halle Berry had a 7lb 4 oz girl at 10:17 a.m. Sunday morning, March 16, at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. The actress had checked into the hospital for the second time that day after feeling contractions earlier Saturday morning.
“Halle had come to the hospital at 4 a.m. in the morning because she felt like she was going into labor. It was a bit scary because her blood pressure was skyrocketing and everyone was a little tense. She’s a diabetic so that was complicating matters as well. The doctors checked the fetal heart rate and everything seemed okay. After a while Halle’s blood pressure came down. She wasn’t dilating anymore so at around 2:45 p.m. they let her go home.ÂÂ
“Halle felt her contractions come on a lot more intensely later that night so she came back to the hospital at 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.”

When the baby finally came, the insider said Berry was so “overcome with emotion” that she couldn’t stop crying, and almost didn’t let the midwives take her baby away to be cleaned because she didn’t want to let go of her miracle child. ÂÂ
“Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment,” the insider explained. “The tears kept coming as Halle didn’t even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene.”
This is the first child for Halle and her 32-year-old partner, Gabriel Aubry.
