Dumbledore is Gay!
For fans of the world-renowned Harry Potter series, this news will either be a terrible shock, a confirmation, or a let down… or possibly a mix of all three. Author J.K. Rowling has announced during her latest book tour that Hogwarts Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is in fact gay!
When asked by a fan whether our beloved Dumbledore would ever find love, Rowling told a packed crowd at Carnegie Hall: “Dumbledore is gay.”
Apparently, the homosexual wizard had it bad for evil wizard and rival Gellert Grindelwald, and when things there didn’t turn out, he was horribly hurt. “Falling in love can blind us to an extent,” Rowling said of Dumbledore’s feelings for his rival. “[Albus] was horribly, terribly let down.”
Those of you who have read the books will know that Dumbledore had been forced to confront Grindelwald during his career, and was the wizard who managed to finally defeat his old love.
If you’ve never read the books, and couldn’t care less about Harry Potter or Rowling, then I’m sure you had no idea what I’ve just been talking about… I’ll try and compensate for that with the next story.
