What keeps Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith together after 11 years of marriage? Is it their utter love and devotion for each other? How about their committment to keeping their family together? Or perhaps, like Nicole and Joel, a weekly supply of sushi keeps things from falling apart?

It’s none of those things. Smith revealed in a recent magazine interview that the secret behind his long marriage is having an open relationship. Yes, that’s right, Will and Jada sleep with other people to keep the fire alive.

The Independence Day star explained:

“Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural and you’re going to be attracted to people.

“And if it came down to it, then one would say to the other: ‘Look, I need to have sex with somebody. Now, I’m not going to if you don’t approve of it.’”

According to Will, their relationship has been an open one from day one, with the couple even vowing on their wedding day to have affairs – so long as they let the other know they’re going to do it, of course.

“In our marriage vows, we didn’t say ‘forsaking all others,’” the 39-year-old actor said. “We said ‘you will never hear I did something afterwards’. Because if that happens the relationship is destroyed.”

Will added: “And lots of sex makes for a good marriage too!”

When discussing his daughter’s onscreen debut recently, Will Smith likened 7-year-old Willow to serial party tart, Paris Hilton.

“Willow is Paris Hilton,” Smith explained. “Willow wants to be on TV.”

Ok… sounds like she’s got the perfect role model there… NOT!

You’ll be happy to know that Will went on to mention some of Willow’s other traits, which Parisite definitely doesn’t share with the young star.

“She has a drive,” Smith added. “She has an energy and she just connects to human emotion.”

Yeah, Paris certainly doesn’t “connect to human emotion.”
