Terri IrwinÂÂ

In an interview to be aired on the Nine network tonight, Terri Irwin has revealed that her late husband - the Croc Hunter, Steve Irwin – wanted her to remarry if something happened to him.

Terri told A Current Affair journalist, Tracy Grimshaw, that Steve was always adamant he would die young, and encouraged his wife to move on an remarry when he left her and the children alone. ÂÂ

“Steve himself would say to me, if anything ever happened to me I would hope that you would remarry …but I don’t know when or if I ever would,” Mrs Irwin said.  ÂÂ

Also in the interview, Terri had a bit to say to those critics who think her daughter, Bindi, is spending too much time in the spotlight since her father’s tragic death last September. She explained that while she was “concerned at claims her daughter was not being allowed to grieve properly,” she’s sure that everything’s ok in the world of Bindi, and that she’s coping as well as can be expected with the loss.

“If a child is not coping that’s when intervention needs to take place and that’s what I have watched for,” she said.

“I have watched for Bindi’s grades changing, I have watched for her behaviour changing — maybe insomnia, fearfulness — anything that may be different or abnormal and the fact that she is doing OK. It’s OK that she can stand up and speak eloquently and seem happy, it’s ok that she is happy.”ÂÂ

The interview will be aired at 6.30 pm EST tonight in Australia.

Bindi & Terri Irwin on the Red Carpet

The late “Crocodile Hunter,” Steve Irwin, was inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame last night, an award which was presented to his surviving wife, Terri, and young daughter Bindi.

Terri said that the award was “such and honour,” and that Steve would have been “so proud.”

“I think Steve would have been first to be impressed by this recognition and so proud that Bindi could get up and present an award,” Terri told the audience as she collected the award.

She was also in awe of daughter Bindi’s maturity since her father’s tragic death last September.

“She’s so fun to watch, she’s a little eight-year-old kid until she gets on stage and all of a sudden she’s on the money.”

Terri Irwin, Bindi & Bob During Steve's Memorial Service

Australia Zoo owner Terri Irwin has told People of her struggles to come to terms with being a single parent.

“It’s extremely difficult,” she said at the Nickelodeon Awards on Saturday. “Part of me is still waiting for the day that he walks through the door.”

Despite the fact that he’s been gone since September last year, Terri says that Steve is still very much a part of their lives.

“We have so much footage of Steve and we watch it so it’s like we almost get to see him every day.”

“The kids and I have good days and bad, but you just deal with it as it comes.”

Terri Irwin Given Husband’s Death Footage

Terri & Steve Irwin

Terri Irwin has been given the last remaining copy of the video footage depicting her late husband, Steve Irwin’s death, by Queensland authorities.

Queensland State Coroner Michael Barnes said that the authorities broke with protocol to make sure that the footage did not fall into the wrong hands. He also said that all copies of the footage, which show croc hunter Steve Irwin being stabbed in the heart by a stingray barb, have since been destroyed.

Mr Barnes told News Limited that Mrs Irwin had been given the footage just before Christmas, to prevent copies being sold on the black market.

“When the final police investigation report is received the coroner will, in consultation with Ms Irwin, determine whether an inquest is necessary,” Mr Barnes said.

Police had informed him that if the tapes were to fall into the wrong hands, they would expect them to reach at least $1 million (Australian) on the black market.

Bindi Puts on a Happy Face for Dad

Bindi Irwin

Bindi Irwin has been criticized a bit about her constant ‘happy’ appearance, since the passing of her dad, Steve Irwin. Some say that it’s not right for a young child to be so happy, only months after losing her father, however, Bindi says that she’s only happy and smiling, because it’s what her dad would have wanted.

“He hated it when I cried…If my pet goldfish died, he cried with me, so I’m trying really hard not to make him really sad that I’m sad. He would be so happy that I’m happy.”

“When I look back at all the memories, really that’s what Daddy wanted the most for me. Some people might think, ‘Oh my word she’s happy, how can that be’, but everyone has a choice of being happy or sad.”

Even though she appears happy when out in the public eye, Bindi says that she’s still struggling to cope with her loss, and is finding it even harder coming up to Christmas.

“Sometimes it’s frustrating because I can really feel that he’s here, but I can’t see him. They say time makes things easier but no one tells you how you can miss someone even more every single day.”

“Sometimes it’s really sad and I have to cry a little bit but I really think, I really believe, he’s just in another world. Sometimes I cry and cry but then I just think ‘It’s happened and you can’t do anything about it, he’s not hurt, he’s in a great place’.”

Bindi says that even though she’s going to find it extremely hard to cope for the first Christmas without her father, she will draw on the happy memories of her last Christmas with him in order to help her stay happy.

“[Last Christmas] Santa left all the presents on top of our roof because our chimney was much too small for him to climb down it. So my Dad and I had to get a ladder and climb up the roof. It was just me and him – Mummy was thinking about it but then didn’t want to, and (baby brother) Bob wanted to but he was a safety hazard.”

“It was so nice up there. He gave me a big bicycle. It was really nice – it was the best Christmas.”

“On Christmas Day I will be raising my orange juice to him I will be saying ‘thank you very much and please have a happy Christmas too’.” [Source]

Bindi Irwin – Too Happy Since Father’s Death?

Bindi Irwin

Bindi Irwin’s short lived time out of the spotlight has ended, not that it ever really had ceased.

Yesterday another product was released in her name, this time a kids fitness DVD, jsut in time for Christmas.

Bindi appears singing and dancing with her wildlife campaigning father, Steve, in footage shot just before he died.

Steve’s friend and manager John Stainton said yesterday Bindi would promote the DVD in a couple of weeks with a live performance, once some time could be cleared in her schedule.

“You know she really loves singing and dancing as much as she loves wildlife so for her to be able to sing and dance and muck around is great,” he said, dismissing claims she was being pushed into the spotlight.

Stainton defended the decision to release the DVD less than three months after Irwin’s death.

“When Steve was working on this he was at his happiest,” he said. “We believe he would have wanted us to release the DVD as originally planned.”

Read into this, we think the time is right to milk some more money for Christmas.

Bindi also appears on the cover of the Christmas edition of The Australian Women’s Weekly.

Meanwhile, Terri has taken both Bindi and Bob to see a child psychologist to make sure they are both handling the death of thier father Steve appropriately. [Source]
It seems that even Terri is now starting to question why Bindi has been so happy since her father’s death.

I have said before that Bindi’s performance at Steve’s memorial, wasa exactly that, a performance. The girl was enjoying the limelight too much for my liking, and she has gone on to demonstrate that in everything else since. Her mother now appears concerned with this behaviour and rightly so.

More Irwin bashing after his death.

“Planet Earth” producer Alastair Fothergill has branded the late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin a “showman” more interested in his own stardom than the animal kingdom.

Fothergill launched an attack on the Australian TV star in the British magazine, Radio Times.

“What Steve Irwin did for a living was as different from what we do as it’s possible to get,” Fothergill said, according to the UK’s Press Association.

Steve Irwin

Well it had to happen. A South Park episode airing next week shows Steve Irwin walking around a fancy dress party in Hell with a stingray barb sticking out of his chest.

The creators of the South Park are unrepentant about a new episode that shows Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin attending a party in Hell with a stingray barb protruding from his chest.

The show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have defended the episode by saying: “We have offended people in the past and probably will again.”

In the episode, Satan hosts a fancy dress party attended by Irwin, Princess Diana, Adolf Hitler and other famous dead people.

But Irwin is kicked out by the Devil because he’s not in costume. [Source]

US Rappers Reference Croc Hunter Death in Song

Rapper Ras Kass

Steve Irwin’s manager and best friend, John Stainton, has slammed US rapper Ras Kass, for using a reference of the Crocodile Hunter’s death, in a song attacking a rap rival.

Ras Kass has put some fuel to the fire in his long-running fued with fellow rapper, The Game, by using a slur inspired by the death of Steve Irwin in his new song, Gayme Over.

Kass takes aim at Game as he sings: “You’re the waste of LA … you the Crocodile Hunter, I am the stingray.”

Of course, Mr. Stainton was extremely saddened by this latest exploitation of his best mate’s death, and had this to say about the rapper’s song:

“I just find it a bit sad that people have to stoop to that.”

“It is disappointing. I can’t understand the point of it. There are other references they can make that will put the point across. I just think it is a pity that people do have to use Steve or anyone who has died in tragic circumstances … as a form of entertainment.”

Mr. Stainton has also attacked the emails and internet images which have been doing the rounds since Steve’s death on September 4.

“The fact that people have gone to the trouble of doing those sort of photographs I just find it really distasteful,” he said.

“Dummied up photos, all the things that are happening around the world associated with Steve’s tragedy – I just can’t understand it to be honest. I don’t ever go to the web fortunately. I don’t give time to that.”

Steve Irwin Death Pics – Are They Real?

I sat on these pics for a day for obvious reasons; I wasn’t sure if it is appropriate to post them. I also am still not sure of the validity of the pics.

I have decided that I should probably put them out there and see what you think.

Steve Irwin

The images depict Steve swimming closely to the stingray, with its tail flicking upto his chest.

The last image depicts Steve holding his chest after being stung.

My gut feeling is that the images are fake, but I could be wrong.

What is everyones thoughts?
