Slumdog Star Says Nicole Kidman is Strange

Little Slumdog Millionaire star Rubina Ali has rubbed shoulders with a host of Hollywood’s elite in her short life, and isn’t afraid to admit what she really thinks of them.

In her new book, Slumgirl Dreaming: Journey to the Stars, 9-year-old Ali discusses Australian actress Nicole Kidman, among other things, referring the Moulin Rouge star as “strange.”

“I really liked her, but she was very quiet and didn’t speak much,”Ali said of Kidman. “I think she was a bit shy.”

The Slumgirl worked with Kidman in a Ridley Scott-produced French commercial for Schweppes beverages recently, and while Ali was quite content to mingle with the crew, Kidman “stayed in her trailer” for the entire shoot.

“[She was] reportedly [trying] to avoid sun exposure,” Ali said in her 192-page memoir.

The Curse Of Kidman – Australia A Flop

This week is starting to appear a little like Bag A Kidman time, but I can assure you it is purely a coincidence that there are so many negative posts about Nicole.

Actually, that may not be entirely true, the reason there are so many negative posts about Nicole Kidman, is because she has been in the news a lot lately, with her promotional work for the movie Australia and frankly, she has made a few gaffs, hence, there really hasn’t been a lot of positive press going around.

While the male lead of the movie was awarded the title of World’s sexiest man, Nicole has inherited the unoficial title of Miss Grumpy after her performance on Letterman.

Unfortunately (for her), the news is not getting any better, with ‘Australia’ having a 7th place opening Wednesday, taking only $2.5M from 2,642 theaters. This continues Kidman’s record of poor box office returns, with many already having labeled her box office poison.

Nicole Kidman Not A Fan Of Husband’s Music

Nicole Kidman doesn’t appear to be a fan of husband Keith Urban’s music, at least if her iTunes playlist is any indication.

iTunes released the Nicole’s playlist, which included Kings of Leon and other modern acts, along with some 80’s Aussie bands. Notorious by his absense, was husband Keith, who’s music was not listed.

Now this doesn’t mean that Nicole thinks his music sucks in any way, maybe she is just bloody sick of it by now!!!

Kidman Shows Her True Colours

Nicole Kidman has hit a snag in her suffocating press campaign for new movie Australia, showing her true “Ice Queen” colours during an interview with David Letterman.

The Australian actress was “greeted warmly” by Letterman, but things quickly turned icy, with Kidman letting off a string of cutting, sarcastic comments that left fans across the globe disgusted.

Obviously sick and tired of hearing about Australia (the movie, not the continent; although these days it’s pretty hard to tell the two apart), Letterman “insisted” on talking about anything but the movie, and at one point even brought up the subject of our closest neighbours, New Zealand.

“I made a film called Australia – not New Zealand,” Kidman reminded the host a little tensely.

“Right,” Letterman replied. “Are they making a film called New Zealand?”

This comment didn’t go down well with Kidman, and it was at this point that the interview started to go even further southward.

After pursuing several questions about Kidman’s country music-singing hubby, Keith Urban, the botox-ed starlet snapped, “Why are you so obsessed with him?”

“Please, let’s talk about the film!” Kidman begged at one point.

When Australia did finally get a mention, it didn’t improve Kidman’s mood any, with Letterman’s compliments about her appearance causing the actress to spit back: “You were talking about horses and you suddenly went to me face?”

I don’t know that I’d compare Kidman’s appearance to that of a horse, but there is something not entirely human about her appearance… those disgusting puffy, immobile lips – for a start – aren’t normal… and don’t even get me started on the rest of her taut, expressionless face!!

Australia in New York

If ever there was a movie hyped to the max, Australia is it.

Heck, I live in the country, and even I’m sick to death of hearing “Australia” this and “Australia” that for the past six months. The movie might be fantastic, but I’m pretty “Australia-ed” out right now.

Speaking of which, those crazy folk behind the blockbuster – Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman – brought Australia to New York City, in all its sunburnt glory.

They even wore matching outfits in a fitting nod to our rugged landscape.

Hugh Jackman And Nicole Kidman – Australia

HUgh Jackman and Nicole Kidman had a busy day today, ahead of tonight’s World premiere of their new Baz Luhrmann movie, Australia.

The stars are in Sydney, to attend the premiere with an audience of 3,000. Simultaneous screenings will be held in Darwin, Queensland’s Bowen and Western Australia’s Kununurra.

Luhrman is under pressure to deliver, after rumors of last minute changes to the movie’s ending to make it more palatable for audiences. I guess tonight will tell all.

Kidman’s Latest Interview a Barf-O-Rama

Rarely do I read something that’s so sweet it’s vomit-inducing.

Nicole Kidman’s latest interview with Parade magazine just happens to be one of those rare, sick-up-in-your-mouth things.

“I’m raw and emotional,” the 41-year-old actress said was asked about her daughter, Sunday Rose. “I cry even thinking of her.” [Insert yesterday's lunch here].

“But they are tears of joy,” Kidman added. “Because I suppose I never thought I would get to [give birth to a child]. To have been given it so late in life – I’m so ready for it.”

The rest of the interview talks about Kidman’s desire to make to Sunday’s 21st birthday, and to see her walk down the aisle. Throw in a few macabre comments about death, and the Australia actress finishes off the sugary chat with a barf-and-you’ll-miss-it speech on her relationship with hubby Keith Urban.

Kidman explained: “We became the closest we could become [during Urban's rehab stint], because we had to bare our souls. We did 10 years of marriage in three months. You go to hell and back with this – when the addiction takes control of the life, it’s terrifying. But there is hope, and we work on it every day, and we are in a place of actual peace right now, which is a beautiful place.”

Nicole’s Children Meet Sunday Rose

Nicole Kidman’s children from her marriage with Tom Cruise were finally allowed to meet their new sibling, Sunday Rose, over the weekend.

Nicole had originally wanted Isabella and Connor to be present for the birth, but Tom had reportedly banned them from attending.

Nicole decided not to push the issue, which probably helped persuade Tom to let them visit her on the weekend.

Some may see Tom’s ban as a slight against Nicole, but as we reported here, Nicole does not have a good relationship with her children. Maybe she intends to try and rectify this.

Kidman & Urban Reject Millions For Baby Pics

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban have rejected “several multi-million dollar offers” to publish the first pictures of their newborn daughter Sunday Rose, The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting.

According to the newspaper, Kidman and Urban are still “undecided” as to whether or not they’ll even release a publicity spread featuring their baby girl, but if they do, they’ve insisted that it will be for free.

“They don’t think it’s appropriate to make deals,” a source said. “They are still deciding how they feel about [it] – if and when they will release a photo at all. But they realise there is enormous interest from the public and they are grateful and appreciative of that.

“Nicole and Keith have been enjoying their first few days at home with their firstborn tot – Nicole is thinking about things like breastfeeding right now.”

Other new celebrity parents haven’t been as accommodating to the press and Nic and Keith, with Matthew McConaughey taking a cool $3 million for the first pictures of his new bundle of joy, and Hollywood power couple Brangelina reportedly holding out for a whopping $20 million before they’ll release any photographs of their newborn twins.
