Mel Gibson has made it into the news again with some more of his infamous, not-so-tasteful behaviour, this time allegedly attacking a photographer posing as a fan at the grand opening of new Los Angeles hotspot, Playhouse.

According to onlookers at the scene, a Life & Style reporter who had spent the evening pretending to be a fan of the Gibson’s tried to snap a picture of the actor and his pregnant girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva.

When Gibson’s security team took the camera and deleted the photos, the paparrazzo sent in her pal Karlis Gajevskis to take more photos. A fed up Gibson then attacked Gajevskis, ripping his shirt.

“Mel approached the guy who tried to take his picture and ripped his shirt,” an onlooker said.

The source added that Gajevskis left the club immediately and indicated that he was on his way to report a battery charge to the police against Gibson. The Mad Max actor and his girlfriend left shortly after, too upset over the incident to continue in their celebrations.

Earlier in the evening, Gibson was said to have been “really respectful” to the media who’d turned up for the event, politely refusing when he was asked for a photograph. Gajevskis and his reporter friend, onlookers said, were overly “pushy” and had even tried pretending to be a part of Gibson’s VIP table in order to get a shot of the actor.

Britney Spears and father Jamie are currently en-route to Costa Rice, where they will spend “a few days” relaxing with Hollywood superstar, Mel Gibson, and his wife, at the What Women Want star’s holiday home.

“They’re just going away for a few days to relax,” a source told People today.

Surprising, huh? Who would have thought that after their little meeting in the Russian restaurant Romanov, back in March, Spears and Gibson would become such close friends that they started vacationing together?

The foursome will stay in Gibson’s Costa Rican holiday home, and will be back sometime next week.

According to the source, Gibson and Spears’ new-found friendship has little to do with the fact that they used to be neighbours, and more because of what the young pop star went through at the hands of the press during her various stints in a mental asylum earlier in the year.

“Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible,” the source explained.

“There are no expectations, there is no agenda,” added the source. “It’s simply an act of human kindness.”

Could Britney Spears and actor Mel Gibson be Hollywood’s next odd couple??

The unlikely pair dined together at Russian restaurant Romanov in Studio City on Saturday and apparently “hit if off.” After a two-hour meal, Spears was seen leaving with a smile on her face, prompting on-lookers to assume the meeting between herself and Gibson went well.

A restaurant source said: “It was exciting to have both of them here together.

“We heard they hit it off and that Britney seemed excited.”

Spears dressed up for the evening, ditching her usual torn stockings and braless shirts for a pair of jeans, a green top and long boots. She was chewing gum when she arrived with friend Victoria, and most likely continued to chew gum throughout the evening. It seems to be a trademark of hers.

The dinner was over by 8:15 p.m., and Spears was seen leaving for her Studio City home looking “happy.”

It’s been a little while since we’ve heard any news on Mel Gibson, so imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to a report of an angry tirade from everyone’s favourite manic alcoholic. I thought he’d gotten over all of his pent-up hostility…
Yes, folks, Mel Gibson’s been at it again…this time abusing an Assistant Professor from Cal State University in San Fernando Valley, over her protests against his new controversial flick, Apocalypto.

Assistant Professor Alicia Estrada is an expert on Mayan culture, and, during the actor’s presentation last night, accused him of racially depicting the culture in the film.

Estrada “challenged Gibson, asking him if he had read about the Mayan culture before shooting the controversial film.” He told her he had. She continued, “stating that representations in the movie that the Mayans engaged in sacrificial ceremonies and had bloodthirsty tendencies were both wrong and racist.”

Mel so eloquently replied: “Lady, F**k off.”

When members of the Mayan community continued to protest against the racial views of the film, Mel became so angry that he had them escorted from the room, shouting after them: “Make your own movie!”

A rep for Mr. Gibson has released a short statement in regards to the issue. “This person was a heckler who was rude and disrupted the event, so much so that the event organizers had to escort her out.”

I wonder if he went to a bar after this incident…or just the mini-bar in his hotel room…

It hasn’t been a great year for Mel Gibson, with his drunken outburst and other problems. Now aa fresh scandal has emerged.

An Aussie chick has come out claiming she is going to sue Mel in a bid to prove she’s his secret lovechild.

Carmel Sloane claims that Mel and her mother spent a romantic night together on a matress in the back of his car 30 years ago.

Nothing out of the ordinary there, that sounds like pretty normal Aussie courting to me.

Mel will reportedly be served with legal papers this week, forcing him to either admit he’s the father or have a swab taken from inside his mouth for DNA testing.

These latest problems supposedly began 30 years ago when Mel stopped to pic up a hitchhiker.

Marylin’s attempts to contact the star were fruitless but her daughter Carmel, now 29, insists her actions aren’t motivated by millions.

“I just want to meet the man I’ve always known was my dad and for him to get to know his grandson,” she said. “I’d love it if he recognised us as family. I’m not looking for a meal ticket.”

Mel was spotted drinking beer in a bar in Austin, Texas, by a number of witnesses, while he was in town for the screening of his new movie Apocalypto.

A musician who caught Mel out said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes. Mel Gibson was swigging a Bud with two adoring young women hanging on his every word.” Apparently, he and his group were sitting in an area which was “cordoned off so no one could bother him.”

A separate witness said: “He definitely was drinking Budweiser. I saw him.”

Mel’s people have of course branded these rumours ‘untrue.’

“The story’s not true…He wasn’t drinking anything alcoholic.”

No, of course he wasn’t…I thought everyone knew that Budweiser was a flavoured soft-drink??
