Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers dreams of becoming his acting idol, Tom Cruise… or just like him.

The Bend It Like Beckham star was recently quoted as saying that he dreamt of being just like Tom Cruise when he was a wee lad in Ireland.

“No kid kicking a football against a wall wants to grow up to be Mr. Smith – they all want to be (Diego) Maradona. Of course I want to be Tom Cruise!”

“Or I want that level of success and power. It’s very attractive. I’m not quite sure if it would suit me, though,” he added.
