Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are finally engaged!

The 66-year-old star Indiana Jones surprised his long-time girlfriend with an engagement ring over the Valentine’s Day weekend, sources close to the couple have confirmed.

Ford and Flockhart, 44, who shot to fame with the legal drama Ally McBeal, have been together for seven and a half years, and have one adopted son, Liam.

No wedding date has been set as yet, and calls to reps for both actors have not been returned. Congratulations to the happy couple and their respective families.

An Indiana Proposal

Fresh from the success of the latest installment of Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford has proposed to long-term girlfriend, Calista Flockhart.

Ford, twice married before, popped the question to Flockhart on April Fool’s Day.

If you were going to pop the question and wanted to leave yourself a way out, should you change your mind, that’d be the day to do it on.

Apparently, Ford intends to honor his proposal and plans to have a wedding as soon as the promotional work for the latest Indiana flick has finished.

Time will tell.

Hollywood heavyweights Natalie Portman and Selma Hayak were just some of the celebrities who walked the red carpet for George Lucas’ latest cinematic masterpiece.

Long-time partners Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart are finally engaged!

The Indiana Jones actor popped the question to his girlfriend on April Fool’s, of all days, but the proposal was far from a joke…

A friend revealed: “[Harrison] coached Liam to run up to Calista and give her a rehearsed message, ‘Mr Ford is going to be my daddy.’ Calista just laughed but it was no joke. Harrison then told her he wanted to marry her. She and Liam are absolutely thrilled about the proposal.”

“Harrison knows after five years that Calista is the last love of his life. He’s been telling everyone he felt it was the right time.”

And the wedding plans are already under way!

The couple plans on tying the knot in a low-key ceremony, shortly after Ford finishes filming the latest Indiana Jones flick this autumn.

Indy 4 Begins Filming June 18

The long-awaited sequel to the Indiana Jones franchise now has a “definite” start date, with filming scheduled to begin on the 18th of June this year.

Despite the fact that there’s only three months until filming begins, Harrison Ford is the only actor who’s been penned in to star. Both Natalie Portman and Sean Connery have been mentioned as joining the cast, but their has been no confirmation from either camp.

I guess we’ll all find out soon enough!

Lucas Confirms Indy Shoot

George Lucas has confirmed that the fourth installment in his Indiana Jones franchise will begin shooting this year.

“It’s going to be fantastic. It’s going to be the best one yet,” Lucas praised of the script, after it had been finalised with the film’s director, Steven Spielberg. “[The film will be a] character piece.”

Aging actor Harrison Ford will again reprise his role as Indy.

The target release date is May 2008.
