George Michael: Everybody Should Smoke Weed

In a bizarre interview with Parkinson, former Wham! frontman George Michael admitted to being addicted to prescription drugs, as well as announcing that he believes everyone should smoke weed.

On the show, George explained that is often crazy behaviour is an “attention-seeking and ’self-destructive’ impulse brought on by the death of his mother a decade ago.” (Of course it is… because obviously, those prescription drugs don’t affect him in any way!)

When Parkinson brought up the subject of his impending legal case after being found slumped at the wheel of his vehicle in London, Michael replied: “It involves prescribed drugs and it involves a dependency on them and the tendency to chase one drug with another because of side effects.”

Michael added that he wasn’t at liberty to elaborate further on the matter, as the legal proceedings are still in motion. The loopy singer is set to appear in court on May 30.

Wham – Andrew Sucks It In And Takes It Like A Man

Do you remember Andrew Ridgley?

He was the non-gay member of Wham.

Actually I don’t know if he was gay or not; I just thought that one of them must have been straight to cause their original split, just like Savage Garden.

It seems that George has finally sucked Andrew into reuniting with him for a special concert this Christmas as part of Michael’s solo world tour.

“George is thrilled that Andrew’s agreed to perform,” a source told Britain’s Sunday Mirror. “It was something George had thought about for a long time. He couldn’t be happier and can’t wait for the gig.” Michael often squashed rumors of a potential reunion in the past due to Ridgley’s refusal to participate.

Michael and Ridgley have not performed together since Wham! staged its final concert at London’s Wembley Stadium in 1986. While Michael has gone on to have a successful solo career, along with recent highly publicized run-ins with the law, Ridgley has stayed out of the public eye and the music industry. [Source]

Dopey George

Poor old George Michael has been caught doped to the eyeballs again. Sky News reports:
Pop star George Michael has been cautioned by police for carrying cannabis when found passed out in his car.

It is the second time in eight months that the 43-year-old music legend has been found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle.

Michael was found by officers after worried motorists dialled 999 to report his car was causing an obstruction at traffic lights in Cricklewood, north London.

Scotland Yard confirmed that police arrested the driver on suspicion of being unfit to drive and for possession of what was believed to be cannabis.

He was taken to hospital before being cautioned for the drug offence and released on police bail pending further inquiries on his fitness to drive.

The arrest raises fresh fears over the health of the singer, who has just started a world tour.

His partner, Kenny Goss, told The Sun newspaper that Michael had nothing to say. He said: “He’s fine and I’ve got him a McDonalds.”

Michael was cautioned by police for possession of cannabis after being found in a similar state at Hyde Park Corner in February.

At the time he issued a statement claiming it was “my own stupid fault as usual”, and later penned a song inspired by the experience.

In April the former Wham! star was in the news again when he collided with three parked cars near his north London home.
