Not Her Greatest Fashion Moment…

Cate Blanchett might have shone at the Cannes premiere of her new movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (mouthful!), but her star wasn’t shining so bright in the fashion stakes at the films’ Aussie debut.
Blanchett, who’s just about my favourite actress on the scene, usually gets it so right whenever she steps out in front of the cameras; however, last night’s bronze puff-ball was a little lack-lustre for me.
While her hair and make-up looked divine (as always), I was a little disappointed to see her fabulous post-baby body hidden beneath an unflattering metallic shirt dress.
At least she turned up to the premiere back home, though!

The Cannes premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull attracted more than just the film’s stars.
Hollywood heavyweights Natalie Portman and Selma Hayak were just some of the celebrities who walked the red carpet for George Lucas’ latest cinematic masterpiece.
Plenty of shots of the celebs including the film’s stars, Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett, after the jump.

Cate Blanchett to Play The Villan in Indy 4

Australian actress Cate Blanchett, famous for her roles in The Aviator and Babel, will play the villan in the fourth installment of Indiana Jones.
When Cate was announced as starring in the film, it was thought that she would play Harrison Ford’s sexy blonde love interest, however, it has just been revealed that the Aussie star will play a Russian villan out to get ‘ol Indy.
At the moment, the film is tentatively titled Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods, but we all know how many times they change a title before the release date.
Filming is set to begin in New Haven, CT, very soon.

Oscars Mega-Post!
February 26, 2007 by Amber
Filed under Anne Hathaway, Awards, Cate Blanchett, Penelope Cruz

Another awards show, another of my “hit and miss” posts…
First up, we have the hits (IMO) of the evening:
Penelope Cruz is my best-dressed of the night (although our Cate comes in a close second).
The dress is fabulous, and few would have been able to pull off such a look, but Penny looks great! And I’m going to go against public opinion and say that I love her hair pulled back like that. It’s a nice change from the usual flowing waves.
Cate Blanchett! It’s no surprise to find her at the top of my list – I love this woman – she always looks so amazing where ever she goes! Not much else to say about this except…GORGEOUS!!!
Anne Hathaway…she’s sure come a long way from her fashion misses of the past!

This dress is just divine! Usually I’m not a fan of big bows, but it really suits her…and I’m always a sucker for lace.
And the misses…
Cameron Diaz! I’m never usually a fan of what she’s wearing, and this year’s Oscars is no exception. When everyone else looks so fabulous, it’s really easy for a safe dress to look plain and boring, and that’s exactly what this is. And what is it with her and messy hair?? Sometimes, sleek is better…
Another miss for Beyonce Knowles! Thank goodness she’s not nominated, because I would hate to see her accept her award with a split to rival a hooker’s!!!
Her posing only makes the dress look worse – it’s too tarty for an Oscars (even though I like her hair)!
There is one more I’d like to add to the “miss list” (Reese Witherspoon – ugly purple dress), but unfortunately, I have a day job, and my break’s over.
Once I finish for the day, I’ll fix this post up…I just wanted to get this up now, before the Oscars are old news!!!
EDIT: As promised, here is Reese Witherspoon, looking fairly average.
I’m not a fan of purple, and the dark shade on her just doesn’t look right. She seems to be suited to really bright colours, like that wonderful yellow number she wore to the Golden Globes (at least I think it was there).

SAG Awards Best Dressed
January 30, 2007 by Amber
Filed under Anne Hathaway, Awards, Cate Blanchett, Katherine Heigl, Teri Hatcher

I think this is the best our Cate has ever looked at any awards ceremony!!!
The dress is fabulous, particularly because it looks like one of those dresses that would look plain and boring on a hanger…
Her hair, her make-up (and I so want that necklace!!!)…Cate is just a gorgeous woman, and this outfit proves it!!!
Staralicious give her a double thumbs up, and a gong for “Best Dressed” (pity she missed out to Jen Hudson…better luck next time, Cate!)
Ah, Anne!!! Black is definitely the colour for you!!!
I can remember a time (not that long ago, really), when Anne struggled with the basics in tasteful fashion…if she keeps up the good work, I think I may soon forget all of her past fashion mistakes!!!
Anne gets a tie (with Cate Blanchett) in the “Best Dressed” category!!!
Katherine Heigl…well, she always looks lovely!!
Grecian-style dresses must be in! I saw a few at the Golden Globes, and here’s Katherine in a rouched-bodice dress with beading…I love the fire-orange colour!
So this is why Superman loved Lois Lane so much??

Teri Hatcher, congratulations!!! You were the most stunning Desperate Housewife at the SAG Awards!!!
This dress is one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve seen in a long time…it kind of reminds me of a dress I saw once in a wedding magazine (but obviously couldn’t afford!)…I wonder if she’ll let me borrow it…just for a little while…
