MTV Awards Mega-Post!

Another awards show, another one of my awards mega-posts!

Last night’s Australian MTV Video Music Awards was a star-studded event, with both local and international talent turning up for the evening’s festivities.

As I’ve already mentioned, BFF Nicole Richie and Aussie Sophie Monk were there to lend a helping hand, as well as Aussie singing sensation The Veronicas, Black Eyed Peas female vocalist Fergie, Marilyn Manson’s ex-Dita Von Teese, and Laguna Beach reject, Kristin Cavallari (among others).

Sophie Monk @ MTV Awards

Aussie actress and former singer Sophie Monk looked fab at the local MTV Video Music Awards in Sydney last night, where she co-hosted the red carpet special with pals.

Nicole Richie brought some “peace” of her own to the Australian MTV Awards in Sydney last night.

Seriously, she did that pose all night!!! Her peace fingers must be so sore this morning…

Jennifer Aniston @ GLAAD

There’s nothing much to say about these photos of Jen Aniston at the recent GLAAD Media Awards, except that, as always, she looks fabulous!

I’m not really a fan of that style of dress, but it is the fashion at the moment, and it does a great job of showing off her wonderful figure.

More Nickelodeon Pics!

The Nickelodeon Awards was full of hot young (and old) stars gracing the red carpet, and because there was so many, I thought I’d pick a few of my favourite shots to share with everyone…

First, we have Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, who always seems to look totally fab wherever she goes! Her hair and make-up is divine, and while the dress is so-so, her good looks allow her to pull it off. She does look a tad bit older than her tender years, though, I must add…

Next is pop star Hilary Duff. Her brown hair seems to have grown on me…I don’t dislike it nearly as much now as I did when she first got it done. In saying that, though, the dress of hers will never grow on me! It’s not at all flattering in any way, and I know she can look so much better than this…

Finally, gorgeous actress Jessica Alba, who I believe hosted the MTV’s last year. It’s nice to see she’s back to being a brunette…it’s what she does best, after all!

Nicole & Gwen @ Nick Awards

The awards are upon us again, and this time it’s the fans kids that decide.

Aussie actress Nicole Kidman attended the recent Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards in the U.S., where she accepted the award for Happy Feet on behalf on the film’s creator. Other than going a little OTT with the botox, Nic looked great in her red satin jacket and side ponytail.

At the show, she met up with American singer, Gwen Stefani, who seems to be getting back to her No Doubt days lately, in terms of her sense of style. Her outfit and hairdo are very reminiscent of her rock chick days, and as always, she’s sporting her trademark red pout.

Stars Hit The Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Bad dresses were plentiful at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party!

We already know that Katie Holmes made a bad choice, but who else had a shocker in the fashion department??

Hayden Panettiere may have a beautiful face, but her choice of attire was all wrong. That dress is way too OTT with the sex appeal! And I’m not loving the colour, either (although I do love the accessories!)

Josh Jackson’s gal, Diane Kruger, was drawing attention to herself for all the wrong reasons, showing up in a horrid ruffled creation. It looks to me as though Diane was playing it safe with this one, after being all outrageous the other night. She should stick to outrageous…it suits her…and do something with that hair, please…it’s so boring!

One celeb who did get it right (IMO) was singer Gwen Stefain, accompanied by her hubby, Gavin.

Gwen was a vision in black and white! Her hair was lovely, her make-up was lovely…in fact, I loved this dress so much that I wish I had one! (Note to readers: if you know where I can get one, please let me know! =P )

TomKat On Parade

It’s been a while since we’ve seen TomKat out together, and they didn’t disappoint with the mushy mushy displays of affection (personally, I can’t see why they can’t just leave that stuff for behind closed doors…unless they need it for the publicity).

Here are the happy fake couple attending the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.

As always, Katie towers over Tom (mustn’t be wearing high enough lifts tonight!), and again, he has her dressing like a posh grandma!

That dress is hideous! It’s the wrong colour for her for starters, and the whole shimmery silk thing…argh! The only thing I do like is her hair-piece…but I don’t like her hair up all the time - it ages her something terrible!!!

Someone said to me she looks like a little girl playing prom dress-up, and I think that’s exactly what she looks like.

It looks like Tom has finally decided to cut his hair and clean himself up a bit. Must be making a movie come-back soon!

Portia De Rossi: Walking Skeleton

Portia De Rossi, Aussie actress and girlfriend of American comedian, Ellen Degeneres, looked like a walking skeleton as she strolled down the red carpet at today’s Oscars ceremony!

She used to look so beautiful in her Ally MacBeal days (and don’t get me wrong, she’s still beautiful), but now, she’s so…thin!!! She’s lost so much weight since the last time I’ve seen her, and the dress is just hanging off her skinny frame.

Ellen needs to start feeding her more…home-cooked meals, and such.

On a positive note, the dress is really stunning…it would just look a whole lot better if she had a little more meat on her bones, and if her shoulders didn’t protrude so much.

Oscars Mega-Post!

Another awards show, another of my “hit and miss” posts…

First up, we have the hits (IMO) of the evening:

Penelope Cruz is my best-dressed of the night (although our Cate comes in a close second).

The dress is fabulous, and few would have been able to pull off such a look, but Penny looks great! And I’m going to go against public opinion and say that I love her hair pulled back like that. It’s a nice change from the usual flowing waves.

Cate Blanchett! It’s no surprise to find her at the top of my list - I love this woman - she always looks so amazing where ever she goes! Not much else to say about this except…GORGEOUS!!!

Anne Hathaway…she’s sure come a long way from her fashion misses of the past!

This dress is just divine! Usually I’m not a fan of big bows, but it really suits her…and I’m always a sucker for lace.

And the misses…

Cameron Diaz! I’m never usually a fan of what she’s wearing, and this year’s Oscars is no exception. When everyone else looks so fabulous, it’s really easy for a safe dress to look plain and boring, and that’s exactly what this is. And what is it with her and messy hair?? Sometimes, sleek is better…

Another miss for Beyonce Knowles! Thank goodness she’s not nominated, because I would hate to see her accept her award with a split to rival a hooker’s!!!

Her posing only makes the dress look worse - it’s too tarty for an Oscars (even though I like her hair)!

There is one more I’d like to add to the “miss list” (Reese Witherspoon - ugly purple dress), but unfortunately, I have a day job, and my break’s over.

Once I finish for the day, I’ll fix this post up…I just wanted to get this up now, before the Oscars are old news!!!

EDIT: As promised, here is Reese Witherspoon, looking fairly average.

I’m not a fan of purple, and the dark shade on her just doesn’t look right. She seems to be suited to really bright colours, like that wonderful yellow number she wore to the Golden Globes (at least I think it was there).
