Britney’s Hit & Run Charges Dismissed

Those hoping to see Britney Spears don a set of orange coveralls will be mighty disappointed today, as a California court has just dropped the hit and run charges against her.
Spears’ lawyer attended the hearing on her behalf, pleading not guilty to the charges of hit and run, and also to the charges of driving unlicensed. She was ordered to pay the owner of the vehicle she hit approximately $1,000 for damages, but the case of her license will be determined at a November 26 hearing.
City Attorney spokesman, Frank Mateljan, said even though she’s managed to obtain a license (on October 2nd) “that doesn’t account for when she drove without it.”
He’s hoping she’ll receive a fine for her law-breaking act, as well as some probation time. We’ll see.
