Britney To Perform At The Emmys?

Britney’s Lame Performance

I posed this question earlier in the week: “Who in their right mind would actually hire Spears after her disasterous MTV performance?” Apparently, those wonderful people at the Emmy Awards would, because they’re currently in negotiations with the train-wreck about gracing the stage at this year’s ceremony!

Yes, just a week after creating chaos on the MTV stage (and with all that whale blubber, fake tan and horrid weave still fresh in our minds), an Emmy Awards show source has revealed that they are “in negotiations” with Britters’ camp in order to get her on board for a performance on this Sunday’s world-wide televised show.

While the source wouldn’t confirm whether or not she will actually appear on the show, they added: “The idea is to have her come on and apologize for the VMA’s. She’s weighing the offer.”

Despite the embarrassing reviews she received for last week’s lip-syncing mess, Spears’ people are allegedly all for a repeat performance on the Emmy’s, and are trying their hardest to convince the star that it would only boost her popularity and public awareness.

A source close to Britney wouldn’t confirm nor deny that the negotiations were taking place, stating: “I can’t say this is 100 percent not true. All I can say is that the Emmy people aren’t dealing with her record company, her manager or her agents at William Morris. So if she is doing anything for the Emmys then it’s not going through the official channels.”

Perhaps that’s a good thing, then. That way, when it goes toe-up again, she’s got no one to blame but herself.
