Britney to be “Involuntarily” Committed??

Her second stint in psychiatric care may turn out to be her last for a while, as sources from the UCLA Medical Centre have revealed to TMZ.com that Britney Spears has been classified as “G.D.” – Gravely Disabled, and could be a candidate for an involuntary commitment.

According to the source, being classed as gravely disabled is a huge deal. “G.D.” means that the patient in question is “unable to take care of basic needs,” like obtaining food, clothing and shelter.

Britney is said to have fallen into a “manic state” with her undiagnosed bipolar disorder, and was causing such a scene when she arrived at the hospital at 2:15 a.m. this morning that she was left to calm down, before finally being admitted at 4:15 a.m.

When Brits was causing the “scene,” she apparently went off on a rant about her mother, accusing her of sleeping with her boyfriend (whoever that is… Adnan, perhaps??). “The only reason [my mother is] admitting me is because she wants to be alone with her boyfriend! She wants to sleep with my boyfriend!” Britney allegedly said.

After she had calmed down, she cried about her children, and told staff at the hospital that she misses them and thinks it’s so unfair that she no longer has custody.

Surely this kind of behaviour will see her staying in the hospital indefinitely. Her psychiatrist did say when she was first taken in for this second stint that if she displayed any “unstable” behaviour or refused treatment in any way, she would be kept in involuntarily for at least and extra 14 days. We’ll see if he actually follows through with that threat, or if it was all talk for the media’s benefit…
