Britney Investigated For Animal Cruelty

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s story (regarding Brit Brit’s injured pooch), comes this rather satisfying tale of the singer being investigated for animal cruelty.
According to TMZ.com, officials from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals paid Britney a visit today, wanting to investigate the cause behind little Yorkie, London’s broken leg.
The president of Los Angeles branch of SPCA, Madeline Bernstein, said to TMZ: “We have received various sources of complaints throughout the day. Some said that Britney’s Yorkie dog was injured and had a cast on, and some said the dog had a broken leg and was not treated. After the calls started pouring in, we did go to Britney’s house today [on Mulholland Drive] but were just able to leave a note with the housekeeper. The matter is not if the dog had an accident, but if the dog is getting proper care.”
However, Ms. Bernstein is still waiting to hear an answer from Spears on the subject, as the singer is apparently “out of town” at the present time. The organization is hopeful that the train-wreck mother-of-two will get back to them with a response shortly.
Well, I must say I am pleased to hear that the SPCA are at least taking the claims in the media over the last day or so seriously. From what I’ve read, it does sound like Britney’s boys were mistreating the poor pooch for quite some time, and that Spears herself was too busy with other things (her flailing career, drinking, partying?) to even notice that little London was even injured!
