Ashlee Kicks Butt in Chicago

Ashlee Simpson took London’s West End by storm, with a “flawless performance” in her theatre debut, as Roxy Hart in Chicago.
Hello Magazine has reported that Ashlee credits her good performance on being part of a celebrity family.
“The play absolutely is all about celebrity and wanting to be famous and have your name in the papers,” she explained. “In that sense, it’s been kind of cool because I’ve really got to connect to that because I’ve seen that world and been in that world.”
“Doing theatre has been extremely humbling because it’s not about who you are. You are not a celebrity when you come here. Everyone is equal – everyone has to work together.”
It’s nice to see Ashlee succeed in something that she does – this should at least put to rest some of the critics who think she can’t actually sing. Let’s just hope she can keep the good performances rolling throughout her 5-week stint on stage.
