Angelina Jolie is a Hypocrite

While promoting her new film, A Mighty Heart, which is in support of the freedom of press, Angelina Jolie had her lawyer draw up a legal document for all journalists to sign on what they could and couldn’t question her about during the interviews.

One such media organization, Associated Press, was asked to sign the document prior to the film’s press junket, so that Ms. Jolie could avoid any probing questions about her mother’s death and weight issues, among other things.

Paul Colford, Director of Media Relations for the Associated Press had other plans, and explains: “APTN was asked to sign a document pertaining to an interview with her scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) but declined to sign because it is not AP policy to do so. Jolie has agreed to the one-on-one interview without the signed document.”

Apparently, Angie’s only agreed to do the interview without the document signed after the huge media backlash to her little privacy stunt.

A journalist from Fox deemed the Tomb Raider star “a mighty hypocrite,” and others followed suit, saying it was ridiculous for a star to be promoting the organization Reporters Without Borders and freedom of press, yet refusing to give a fair interview to those same journos.

I see their point, and I’m glad Angelina got slammed for it. I mean, I wouldn’t like being asked personal questions, either, but there is such a statement as “No comment.” Why can’t she just use that?
